The Exegesis of the Saying of Allah the Exalted: “Have you not seen that those in the heavens and the earth and the birds glorify Him? Each has known its prayer and its glorification, and Allah is Knowing”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Then he said:
Do you not see that Allah is exalted by whomever is within the heavens and the earth ألم تر أن الله يسبح له من في السماوات والأرض
[An-Nur 24:41]
“Have you not seen” — the hamzah is for interrogation that enters upon negation. When interrogation enters upon negation, it conveys affirmation, like
Did We not expand for you, [O Muhammad], your breast? ألم نشرح لك صدرك
[Ash-Sharh 94:1]
, meaning “We have expanded for you your chest.” “Have you not seen” means “You have seen.” So the hamzah of interrogation, when it enters upon negation, conveys affirmation, meaning the establishment of what is mentioned, not its negation. Did you understand, Sami? I am saying that when the hamzah of interrogation enters upon negation, it conveys affirmation, meaning the establishment of what is mentioned, not its negation. For example, Allah said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Did We not expand for you, [O Muhammad], your breast? ألم نشرح لك صدرك
[Ash-Sharh 94:1]
.
