The benefits of the saying of Allah the Exalted: << وإذا سمعوا اللغو أعرضوا عنه. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . >

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
This is due to His saying:
And when they hear ill speech, they turn away from it وإذا سمعوا اللغو أعرضوا عنه
[Al-Qasas 28:55]
They are measured by it, so a person should not spend his time on actions that have no good in them. Know that goodness is either intrinsic or incidental, meaning that a thing may be good in itself, or it may be good for someone else due to an incidental circumstance. For example, the goodness of prayer is intrinsic, while the goodness of walking to it is incidental, because mere walking is not an act of worship until it becomes a means to another act of worship. On this basis, if a person speaks in a conversation that is not from the remembrance of Allah, nor from knowledge, nor from enjoining good and forbidding evil, but it is a conversation intended to bring joy to his companions, is the goodness of this, right? Yes, it is good, but it is not intrinsic goodness in this speech; rather, it is incidental goodness, meaning it is incidental to it due to the good intention in it. And this is, in reality, on this basis.
