The Ruling on the One Who Says to a Person Arriving in Madinah: “Greet the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) from me.”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And by this, we know the misguidance of some of the common people who say to one who arrives in Madinah, “Greet the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) from me,” as if he were alive, as if he were alive and could receive the greeting. This is an error, because if he says “Greet him from me” intending that the person should greet the Messenger on his behalf, this is an agency in an act of obedience for which no agency has been established. And if he intends that the person should convey his greeting, we say that the angels conveying your greeting is more reassuring, stronger in safety, and more secure in protection. Yes.
The reader: “These two transmitters from these two different chains indicate the authenticity of the hadith, especially since the one who transmitted it used it as evidence, and that necessitates its authenticity in his view, even if it had not been narrated through other supported chains besides these two. How much more so since it has been narrated with a supported chain previously?”
