And we believe that Allah the Exalted is angry with those who deserve His anger, from the disbelievers and others. The believers in Allah with a bad opinion, upon them is the circle of evil and the anger of Allah.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And we believe that Allah the Exalted is angry with those who deserve His anger, from the disbelievers and others". Anger is the opposite of satisfaction. So it is from the creed of the people of the Sunnah and the community that Allah is described with anger toward those who deserve it, from the disbelievers and non-disbelievers. And in the supplication of the mutual oath-swearing, "O Muhammad, the one who has been accused," in the supplication of the mutual oath-swearing

The student: ...

The Shaykh : No, no, what are you saying? May the curse of Allah be upon him.
The student:
that the wrath of Allah be upon
[An-Nur 24:9]

The Shaykh :
that the wrath of Allah be upon
[An-Nur 24:9]
Now, what is anger? Anger is one of the actual attributes of Allah. They say that anger is not an attribute by which Allah is described, because anger is the boiling of the blood in the heart, and Allah Mighty and Majestic is not described with this. Is anger the boiling of the blood in the heart? Yes, it is the boiling of the blood in the heart, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed that it is a coal that Satan throws into the heart of the son of Adam, so the veins swell, the hair stands up, and the face turns red. But whose anger is this? The anger of the created being. As for the anger of the Creator, it is not this; rather, it is an anger befitting His Majesty and His Greatness, Mighty and Majestic. Now.
Allah the Exalted said
those who assume about Allah an assumption of evil nature. Upon them is a misfortune of evil nature
[Al-Fath 48:6]
. This is a description of His saying, the Exalted:
And [that] He may punish the hypocrite men and hypocrite women, and the polytheist men and polytheist women
[Al-Fath 48:6]
What is it?
The student: ...

The Shaykh :
those who assume about Allah an assumption of evil nature. Upon them is a misfortune of evil nature; and Allah has become angry with them
[Al-Fath 48:6]
The point from this is
and Allah has become angry with them
[Al-Fath 48:6]
. So what is the bad opinion of Allah? The bad opinion of Allah: the most comprehensive thing said about it is to think of Allah what is not befitting Him, to think in Allah what is not befitting Him. This is the most comprehensive thing said about the bad opinion. So whoever thinks that Allah does not support His awliya (close friends of Allah), yes, then he has thought of Him, O servant of Allah, Ibn 'Adhwa.
The student: The bad opinion.

The Shaykh : Now, whoever thinks that Allah is deficient in His attributes, then he has thought of Him a bad opinion. And whoever thinks that falsehood will prevail over truth in a permanent, continuous way, then he has thought of Allah a bad opinion. And whoever thinks that Allah does not resurrect the servants and reward them, then he has thought of Him a bad opinion, and so on. So the basis of the bad opinion is what? To think of Allah what is not befitting Him. This is the bad opinion.
Allah the Exalted said
Upon them will be a misfortune of evil
[At-Tawbah 9:98]
, meaning that evil revolves around them and surrounds them from every direction.
and Allah has become angry with them
[Al-Fath 48:6]
And He said, the Exalted:
But those who [willingly] open their breasts to disbelief, upon them is wrath from Allah, and for them is a great punishment;
[An-Nahl 16:106]
But with the exception of what came before, which is His saying:
Whoever disbelieves in Allah after his belief... except for one who is forced [to renounce his religion] while his heart is secure in faith. But those who [willingly] open their breasts to disbelief, upon them is wrath from Allah, and for them is a great punishment;
[An-Nahl 16:106]
So we believe in anger. How do the people of denial of the divine attributes interpret it? They said that anger is taking revenge or the desire to take revenge. And this is a mistake that the Qur'an refutes. Allah the Exalted said:
And when they angered Us, We took retribution from them
[Az-Zukhruf 43:55]
And when they angered Us, We took retribution from them
[Az-Zukhruf 43:55]
angered us آسفونا
, meaning "when they angered us,"
We took revenge on them انتقمنا منهم
so He made taking revenge the result of anger. And it is known that the condition and the consequence are different. The condition is
So when they angered Us فلما آسفونا
and the consequence is
We took revenge on them انتقمنا منهم
, so they are two distinct things. So the Qur'an refutes their saying that anger is taking revenge. Also, the desire to take revenge is not anger, because the one who is angry is angry first, then he desires to take revenge second, then he takes revenge third. But their denial of the real anger is based on the illusory evidence that they called rational. Yes.
