And whoever claims that there is a contradiction in the Book of Allah the Exalted, or in the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), or between the two, that is due to his bad intention and the deviation of his heart, so let him repent to Allah.

The Shaykh : Then he said: "And whoever claims that there is a contradiction in the Book of Allah the Exalted, or in the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), or between the two", that there is a contradiction in them "or between the two, that is due to his bad intention".
The difference between our saying: "in the Book of Allah or in the Sunnah of His Messenger" and our saying: "or between the two is clear". "In the Book of Allah" means: some of it with some of it. "In the Sunnah of His Messenger" means: some of it with some of it. "Between the two" means: between the Book and the Sunnah.
"If he claims a contradiction, that is due to his bad intention and the deviation of his heart, so let him repent to Allah and let him abandon his error". Correct, meaning if a person says the Qur'an is contradictory, he has a bad intention, yes, and a deviated heart, and may Allah protect us from that. If a person says that there is a contradiction in the established Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he has a bad intention and a deviated heart, because he does not intend by that anything other than to divert people from the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, so he has a bad intention and a deviated heart.
And the evidence for this is the saying of Allah Blessed and Exalted is He:[Al-Mutaffifin 83:10-14] And otherwise, whoever has a pure heart cannot claim that there is a contradiction in the Qur'an, or a contradiction in the Sunnah, or a contradiction between the two, okay.
So if he says that and brings something to confuse with, he says: The Qur'an says:[Al-An'am 6:23] In this verse, they denied that they were polytheists, is that not so? [Al-An'am 6:23] They denied that they were polytheists and swore to it, but in another verse it says: [An-Nisa 4:42] meaning: and on that Day they will not conceal from Allah any speech. So how do you reconcile between these two verses, one verse says, Allah says in it: that they deny that they associate partners with Him, and a verse where Allah says: that they do not conceal from Allah, what is the reconciliation?
We say: Yes, their apparent meaning is contradictory, but what is the reconciliation? The reconciliation is that we say: they have two states, a state in which they deny shirk (associating partners with Allah) so that perhaps they will submit, and another state in which they admit it, because their tongues, their hands, and their feet will testify against them regarding what they used to earn. And this is possible, because how long is the Day of Resurrection? Fifty thousand years in which conditions change.
He also says: Allah says:[Al-Baqarah 2:2-3] And He says in another verse: [Al-Baqarah 2:185] So sometimes He says to the righteous and sometimes He says to people, this is a contradiction.
We say: There is no contradiction in it, why? Because His saying: means guidance by indication, success, and benefit, and guidance by indication, the Qur'an guides everyone, it clarifies for everyone, but who benefits from it? The righteous.
And so many verses are on this basis, and it is possible to reconcile between them, but the one who has a disease in his heart brings this to create doubt.
And al-Shanqiti (may Allah have mercy on him), the author of *Al-Awa'id al-Bayan*, compiled a treatise he called "Refuting the Suggestion of Contradiction in the Verses of the Book", in which he mentioned what reached his knowledge of verses whose apparent meaning is contradictory and he reconciled between them, so let one refer to it, for it is beneficial.

(10) Woe, that Day, to the deniers, (11) Who deny the Day of Recompense. (12) And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. (13) When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." (14) No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning.
ويل يومئذ للمكذبين الذين يكذبون بيوم الدين وما يكذب به إلا كل معتد أثيم إذا تتلى عليه آياتنا قال أساطير الأولين كلا بل ران على قلوبهم ما كانوا يكسبونSo if he says that and brings something to confuse with, he says: The Qur'an says:
Then there will be no [excuse upon] examination except they will say, "By Allah, our Lord, we were not those who associated."
ثم لم تكن فتنتهم إلا أن قالوا والله ربنا ما كنا مشركينexcept they will say, "By Allah, our Lord, we were not those who associated."
إلا أن قالوا والله ربنا ما كنا مشركينThat Day, those who disbelieved and disobeyed the Messenger will wish they could be covered by the earth. And they will not conceal from Allah a [single] statement.

He also says: Allah says:
(2) This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah - (3) Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them,
ذلك الكتاب لا ريب فيه هدى للمتقين الذين يؤمنون بالغيبThe month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people
