Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The fourth, " The fifth: The Great Qur'an that Allah revealed to His Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets
a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion هدى للناس وبينات من الهدى والفرقان
[Al-Baqarah 2:185]
confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture and as a criterion over it مصدقا لما بين يديه من الكتاب ومهيمنا عليه
[Al-Ma'idah 5:48]
. By it, Allah abrogated all previous books, and He took upon Himself to preserve it from the meddling of meddlers and the distortion of distorters
Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian. إنا نحن نزلنا الذكر وإنا له لحافظون
[Al-Hijr 15:9]
because it will remain a proof against all creation until the Day of Resurrection "
.
This Book revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him); I ask Allah to make me and you among its people who recite it with proper recitation. This Book is the noblest of books, the most comprehensive, the most beneficial, and the most upright. Allah the Exalted said:
Indeed, this Qur'an guides to that which is most suitable إن هذا القرآن يهدي للتي هي أقوم
[Al-Isra 17:9]
, and it is narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a sheet of the Torah in the hand of 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, and he became angry, because there cannot be anything more guiding than the Qur'an, and it is sufficient for everything other than it.
We say:
a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion هدى للناس وبينات من الهدى والفرقان
[Al-Baqarah 2:185]
guidance for all people, but here we say: Allah the Exalted sometimes says:
a guidance for the people هدى للناس
and sometimes says:
A guidance for the righteous هدى للمتقين
So how are these reconciled? We say: As for the first, it is guidance of indication, guidance for all people. As for the second, it is guidance of success. May Allah reward you.
clear proofs of guidance and criterion وبينات من الهدى والفرقان
[Al-Baqarah 2:185]

Al-Huda means beneficial knowledge. Al-Furqan is that by which one distinguishes between truth and falsehood, between truth and lies, between injustice and justice, and between the close friends of Allah and the enemies of Allah. For this reason, you will not find more discernment than what is in the Noble Qur'an. And when Allah grants a person the Book, meaning the Qur'an, he obtains a degree of discernment that would be a great difficulty for others. And if you want the difficulties to be removed from you, you must turn to the Qur'an, for the Qur'an is a discernment that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, truth and lies, injustice and justice, and the close friends of Allah and the enemies of Allah. Nothing is greater than the discernment of the Qur'an, ever. But because people have turned away from it and occupied themselves with other things, they do not find that discernment by which truth becomes clear to them, because they are turning away. Otherwise, by Allah, if they returned to the Noble Qur'an, they would find the discernment by which they distinguish between truth and falsehood. Indeed, Allah places light in the heart of the servant by which he may be guided by the knowledge by which Allah honors him.
" And He also said, so it became
confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture مصدقا لما بين يديه من الكتاب
[Al-Ma'idah 5:48]
"
One book? The intended meaning is the genus.
of the Book من الكتاب
meaning from the books. Whatever books are before it, it will confirm them, and you knew a moment ago the meaning of what? Confirmation of what is before it.
And a Guardian over it ومهيمنا عليه
And this last one contains evidence that the Qur'an abrogates what came before it, and that whatever contradicts the Qur'an in the previous books, the Qur'an rules it as invalid. What is the meaning of al-Himayah? Control and absolute authority, and this necessitates that everything in the previous books is what? Abrogated by this Noble Qur'an.
The scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) have agreed that if the legislation of those before us is contradicted by our legislation, it is abrogated.
They differed on what happens if our legislation does not contradict it; it was said: it is legislation for us, and it was said: no. The issue is elaborated in the principles of jurisprudence. Yes.
He says: " So by it Allah abrogated all previous books, and He took upon Himself to preserve it from the meddling of meddlers and the distortion of distorters ". Whereas Allah did not take upon Himself to preserve the previous books, and for this reason distortion and concealment occurred in them. Yes.
Say, "Who revealed the Scripture that Moses brought as light and guidance to the people? You [Jews] make it into pages, disclosing [some of] it and concealing much. قل ما أنزل الكتاب الذي جاء به موسى نورا وهدى للناس تجعلونه قراطيس تبدونها وتخفون كثيرا
[Al-An'am 6:91]
. But this Qur'an is preserved, because there is no book with greater mass transmission than it, there is no book with greater mass transmission than it, and no book that is read by the young and the old of the community. For this reason, we find that if the greatest scholar were to add to the Qur'an, a layperson would reject him, and he is a layperson. This is among the blessings of Allah the Mighty and Majestic and His preservation of this Noble Qur'an.
And by this we know the greatness of the misguidance of the Rafidah who claimed that there is in the Qur'an what is not from it, and that what is from it has been deleted, so they lied about Allah, and they lied about the Islamic community, and they claim that they are the Muslims, and every claim without proof is invalid. Is it possible that in the Book of Allah which He revealed to Muhammad and said in it:
Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian. إنا نحن نزلنا الذكر وإنا له لحافظون
[Al-Hijr 15:9]
Is it possible that something be deleted from it that the community does not know? It is not possible. Or that something be added to it that the community does not know about its addition? This is absolutely not possible. So either they say this Qur'an that is in our hands is the speech of Allah, and it is what was revealed to Muhammad, or they deny it entirely. As for them acknowledging that it is the Book of Allah, and then saying that deletion or addition occurred in it, this is not possible, because if they acknowledge that this is the speech of Allah, it necessitates that they say what? No addition and no subtraction, because the speech of Allah is preserved, Allah took upon Himself to preserve it, nothing is added to it and nothing is subtracted from it.
If someone were to say: Do we find distortion in the Book of Allah?
We said: Praise be to Allah, but was there any distortion that was not addressed? For every distortion of the Book of Allah, Allah provided one who invalidates it and clarifies it. Yes. So it does not contradict preservation; rather, it may be more eloquent in its preservation that a transgressor transgresses against it with distortion, and then Allah provides for it what? One who clarifies its invalidity, because Allah the Exalted may allow one to deny His legislation or part of it until one rises to support it and that truth becomes distinct from falsehood. Good.
He says:
Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an إنا نحن نزلنا الذكر
[Al-Hijr 15:9]
.. This noble verse is at the peak of greatness
Indeed, it is We who sent down إنا نحن نزلنا
[Al-Hijr 15:9]
And indeed, we will be his guardians. وإنا له لحافظون
[Yusuf 12:12]
The first one has emphasis with "Inna" and the pronoun is the pronoun of separation, "We." For this reason, if the verse were "Inna nazzalna" (We revealed), the speech would be correct, but he said "We" indicating the emphasis that it was revealed from Allah and not from other than Him, then it came in the form of greatness indicating the greatness of the Revealer, the Mighty and Majestic, then he emphasized its preservation by saying:
and indeed We وإنا
and this is for emphasis
are preservers لحافظون
the "lam" is also for emphasis. And the object was placed before the verb, "Hafizun" (Preservers), indicating care for it, otherwise Allah preserves the Qur'an and other things, but specifying it with mention indicates care for its preservation.
He said: " Because it will remain a proof against all creation until the Day of Resurrection ".
His saying " until the Day of Resurrection " means: until near the Day of Resurrection, because it has come in the narrations:
That the Qur'an will be removed in the end times, removed from the chests and from the mushafs, until the people will have not a single letter of the Qur'an in their mushafs أن القرآن ينزع في آخر الزمان ينزع من الصدور ومن المصاحف حتى يصبح الناس ليس في مصاحفهم حرف من القرآن
it will be erased, and even taken from the chests, and this, may Allah know best, is when people turn away from the Book of Allah and do not act by it and do not raise their heads with it, so at that time it will remain in a community that is not worthy of it, in a community that has humiliated it, so Allah the Exalted will raise it to protect His Book from humiliation, just as this Ka'bah, which Allah honored, was preserved from the Elephant and access to it was prevented, and a man from Abyssinia will be sent against it, short in stature, with splayed legs, who will demolish it stone by stone, Allah is the Greatest! The Elephant was repelled from it, and this short, humiliating man will be sent against it. This, may Allah know best, will happen when people humiliate the House of Allah with sins, open sinfulness, lewdness, and other things, until the House of Allah has no standing among them, so this man will be sent against it to demolish it stone by stone.
So our saying " until the Day of Resurrection " means what? Until near the Hour.
Yes. " As for the previous books, they are temporary with a duration that ends with the revelation of what abrogates them, and clarifies what occurred in them of distortion and change ". This does not need explanation because it is clear.
" For this reason, they were not protected from it, so what occurred in them " long speech.
The student: Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Yes. First, you gave me a suggestion yesterday that.
We are dealing with what? Faith in the books.
