The Shaykh : Then he said: "Chapter: And we believe that Allah the Exalted sent down to His messengers books as a proof against the people and a path for the workers, by which they teach them wisdom and purify them".
We also believe in the books, and that every messenger has a book with him. Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Hadid 57:25] What? And He the Exalted said: [Al-Baqarah 2:213]. Accordingly, every messenger has a book with him, every messenger. As for every prophet, it is not necessary that every prophet have a book with him, but every messenger has a book. We believe that with every messenger whom Allah the Exalted sent, there is a book, as you heard in the two verses.
"A proof against the people and a path for the workers". "Path" means a way, so the books are a proof and a path. "Proof" means evidence that stands against the people, and they have no excuse after that. And "path" means a way that the workers follow. "By which they teach them wisdom and purify them". The wisest of judgments is to worship Allah alone, having no partner for Him, because if you worship Allah alone, having no partner for Him, you have placed worship in its proper place. And wisdom is said to be placing things in their proper places.
"And purify them" means they testify to their justice and truthfulness, or they teach them justice and truthfulness.
We also believe in the books, and that every messenger has a book with him. Allah the Exalted said:
We have already sent Our messengers with clear evidences and sent down with them
لقد أرسلنا رسلنا بالبينات وأنزلنا معهمthe Book
الكتابMankind was [of] one religion [before their deviation]; then Allah sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners and sent down with them the Scripture
كان الناس أمة واحدة فبعث الله النبيين مبشرين ومنذرين وأنزل معهم الكتاب"A proof against the people and a path for the workers".
