The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
We have previously discussed the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding faithMusnad Ahmad 367, 368Lts isnad is Sahih, Muslim (8)
The fourth pillar The messengers are human beings. What is meant by them here are the human beings whom Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) sent to creation and made them a medium between Him and His servants in conveying His laws. They are human beings created from a father and a mother, except for 'Isa ibn Maryam, whom Allah created from a mother without a father. Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) sent them as a mercy to the servants and to establish the argument against them, as Allah the Exalted said [An-Nisa 4:163] until He said [An-Nisa 4:165] They are numerous in number; the first of them is Nuh and the last of them is Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The evidence for this is His saying, the Exalted [An-Nisa 4:163] And it is authentic in al-Bukhari and Muslim and others in the hadith of intercession As for the evidence that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is the last of the messengers, it is His saying, the Exalted [Al-Ahzab 33:40] And it is authentic from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said So he (peace and blessings be upon him) is the last of the messengers. It is obligatory for us to believe that all the messengers whom Allah sent are truthful in what they conveyed from Allah and in their message. It is obligatory for us to believe in the names of those whose names have been specified for us, and as for those whose names have not been specified for us, we believe in them in a general sense. It is also obligatory for us to believe that there is no nation except that Allah sent to it a messenger to establish the argument against them, as Allah the Exalted said [An-Nahl 16:36] And He said, the Exalted [Fatir 35:24]
And it is obligatory for us to believe in everything the messengers reported, if it is authentic from them in terms of transmission, and to know that it is the truth. And it is obligatory for us to follow their seal, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), because he is the one whose following is made obligatory upon us. Allah the Exalted said[Al-A'raf 7:158] So Allah the Exalted commanded us to follow him, and He said, the Exalted [Ali 'Imran 3:31] As for the other messengers, we follow them if our Shari'ah comes with a command to follow them, such as his saying (peace and blessings be upon him) This is a narration of the worship of Dawud and his standing in prayer at night, as well as his fasting, and his fasting in order for us to follow him in that.
As for when our Shari'ah does not come with a command to follow them, the scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) differed: is the Shari'ah of those before us a Shari'ah for us if our Shari'ah does not come with a contrary ruling, or is it not a Shari'ah for us until our Shari'ah comes with a command to follow it? The correct view is that the Shari'ah of those before us is a Shari'ah for us if our Shari'ah does not come with a contrary ruling. Because when Allah the Exalted mentioned the prophets and messengers, He said to His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) So Allah commanded His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to follow the guidance of those who followed him. And Allah the Exalted said [Yusuf 12:111] And this is at the end of Surat Yusuf, in which Allah the Exalted narrated to us his story in detail so that we may take a lesson from what is in it.

And His Messengers
Indeed, We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him
[We sent] messengers as bringers of good tidings and warners so that mankind will have no argument against Allah after the messengers
Indeed, We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him
That the people on the Day of Resurrection will come to Nuh and say to him: You are the first messenger Allah sent to the people of the earth
Muhammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and last of the prophets
I am the seal of the prophets
And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worship Allah and avoid Taghut."
And there was no nation but that there had passed within it a warner.
Allah the Exalted said
Say, [O Muhammad], "O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all, [from Him] to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death." So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered prophet, who believes in Allah and His words, and follow him that you may be guided.
Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you
The best prayer is the prayer of my brother Dawud. He would sleep half the night, stand in prayer for a third of it, and sleep a sixth of it. And the best fasting is the fasting of my brother Dawud. He would fast one day and break the fast the next day
As for when our Shari'ah does not come with a command to follow them, the scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) differed: is the Shari'ah of those before us a Shari'ah for us if our Shari'ah does not come with a contrary ruling, or is it not a Shari'ah for us until our Shari'ah comes with a command to follow it?
