And we hold that whoever disbelieves in the message of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to all of mankind has disbelieved in all the messengers, even in the one he claims to believe in and follow.

The Shaykh : Good, the author says: "And we hold that whoever disbelieves in the message of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) to all of mankind has disbelieved in all the messengers".
Whoever disbelieves in the message of the Messenger has disbelieved in all the messengers, and whoever disbelieves in the universality of his message has disbelieved in all the messengers, because Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) did not come saying that he is a messenger, but rather he said: he is a messenger, and to all of mankind. So whoever disbelieves in the origin of the message is a disbeliever, and whoever disbelieves in the universality of the message is also a disbeliever, because he did not believe in his message as it came. Then whoever disbelieves in him is a disbeliever in all the messengers, even in the one he claims to follow. For example, if the Christians say: "We do not believe that Muhammad is a messenger to creation," we say: "You are now disbelievers in 'Isa, is that not so? Disbelievers in 'Isa, and we say it with our full mouths, and we want it to reach their ears: they are disbelievers in 'Isa, and if 'Isa were to come out, he would fight them. And the wonder is that Muhammad is the glad tidings of 'Isa, and yet they lie about him. 'Isa says:
O children of Israel, indeed I am the messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad.
[As-Saf 61:6]
bringing glad tidings of him. Does one bring glad tidings of something from which the one being given the glad tidings does not benefit? No, and it is as if he is saying: Believe in him, for it is good for you, because he gave them glad tidings, and glad tidings is the announcement of what brings joy. They say: The one of whom we were given glad tidings is Ahmad, and the one who came is Muhammad?
The answer to that is from two angles:
First: Do you object to the multiplicity of names? His name is Ahmad and his name is Muhammad, both of them, and there is no objection.
Second: Allah said:
But when he came to them with clear evidences
[As-Saf 61:6]
which indicates that there is no expected prophet
When he came to them فلما جاءهم
and it came in the past tense, meaning Ahmad came to the Children of Israel
But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic."
[As-Saf 61:6]
.
Good. So whoever disbelieves in Muhammad has disbelieved in all the messengers except Noah? Yes? All the messengers even Noah? Good.
Has he disbelieved in all the messengers except the one he claims to follow? No, not even that? Yes, we say: You have disbelieved in the one you follow.
The evidence? The saying of the Exalted:
The people of Noah denied the messengers
[Ash-Shu'ara 26:105]
even though they did not lie about Noah, right? Even, yes, even though the people of Noah did not lie except about Noah, and no messenger existed before him. So they lied about the messengers who came after him
The people of Noah denied the messengers
[Ash-Shu'ara 26:105]
who came after him, and that is because whoever lies about a messenger has lied about all the messengers, since the revelation is one, yes.
"So He made them liars regarding all the messengers, even though no messenger preceded Noah. And the Exalted said:
Indeed, those who disbelieve in Allah and His messengers and wish to discriminate between Allah and His messengers
[An-Nisa 4:150]
so they believe in Allah and do not believe in the messengers, or they distinguish between the messengers as well
and say, "We believe in some and disbelieve in others," and wish to adopt a way in between - (151) Those are the disbelievers, truly.
[An-Nisa 4:150-151]
"

that they take between that
meaning between faith and disbelief
a way سبيلا
meaning a path by which they escape from these and those, and that is exactly true regarding whom? Regarding the hypocrites. The hypocrites believe in some and disbelieve in some, and they want to take a path between that
Those are the disbelievers, truly.
[An-Nisa 4:151]
meaning is that truly true?
and We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment - وأعتدنا للكافرين عذابا مهينا
[An-Nisa 4:37]
.
Pay attention to these two benefits:
The first: Whoever lies about one messenger has lied about all the messengers.
The second: Whoever believes in some and disbelieves in some has disbelieved in all of it.
And this entails that whoever believes in some of the Shari'ah and not in some. Whoever says: "I believe that prayer is an obligatory pillar of Islam, but I do not believe that zakah is a pillar of Islam," this is disbelief in all of it. Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) said:
So do you believe in part of the Scripture and disbelieve in part? Then what is the recompense for those who do that among you except disgrace in worldly life
[Al-Baqarah 2:85]
.
And among that is also whoever believes that it is lawful to judge by other than what Allah has revealed, and makes it a legislated law to which one returns in case of dispute without returning to the Book and the Sunnah, and then he prays and fasts and gives zakah. We say: He is a disbeliever even if he prays and fasts, even if he claims to be a Muslim, because he believed in some and disbelieved in some. Yes.
