And they exist now, and they will never cease to exist forever. And whoever believes in Allah and does righteous deeds, He will admit him into gardens under which rivers flow, to abide therein forever.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He said: “And they exist now”. This is derived from the saying of Allah the Exalted:
prepared for the righteous أعذت للتقين
and in the Fire
prepared for the disbelievers أعدت للكافرين
.
And from the apparent and well-known Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: And the evidence for that is
And whoever believes
Yes, “and they will never cease to exist forever”.
He said: “The evidence for that is:
And whoever believes in Allah and does righteousness - He will admit him into gardens beneath which rivers flow to abide therein forever. Allah will have perfected for him a provision.
[At-Talaq 65:11]
”
The point of interest in it is the phrase:
Never.
and this is explicit regarding eternity.
And regarding the Fire, He said:
(64) Indeed, Allah has cursed the disbelievers and prepared for them a Blaze. (65) Abiding therein forever, they will not find a protector or a helper.
[Al-Ahzab 33:64-65]
The point of interest is the phrase:
Never.
they will not find a protector or a helper. (66) The Day their faces will be turned about in the Fire, they will say, "How we wish we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger."
[Al-Ahzab 33:65-66]
. Oh, if only they were, but wishing is the capital of the bankrupt. This wishing would benefit them if it were in a time of possibility, but now it is not. When a person leaves this world, and at his departure from this world, regret does not benefit him. What did Pharaoh say when drowning overtook him?
he said, "I believe that there is no deity except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims."
[Yunus 10:90]
And it was said to him:
Now? And you had disobeyed [Him] before and were of the corrupters?
[Yunus 10:91]
And look at the humiliation, disgrace, and shame upon this wretch who was arrogant toward the Children of Israel; how he now explicitly states that he is a follower of them by saying:
I believe in the One in whom the Children of Israel believe
He did not say, “I believe in Allah, nor in the Lord of the worlds, the Lord of Moses and Aaron,” as the magicians said. He said:
I believe in the One in whom the Children of Israel believe
So it is as if he is now saying: I am a follower of them. Thus, he was humiliated in this world before the Hereafter, may Allah protect us, but it did not benefit him.
These are the ones who say,
they will say, "How we wish we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger."
[Al-Ahzab 33:66]
and they also say when they stand before the Fire:
would that we could be returned
[Al-An'am 6:27]
What?
and not deny the signs of our Lord and be among the believers." ولا نكذب بآيات ربنا ونكون من المؤمنين
[Al-An'am 6:27]
Allah the Exalted said:
But what they concealed before has [now] appeared to them. And even if they were returned, they would return to that which they were forbidden; and indeed, they are liars.
[Al-An'am 6:28]
. Yes.
He says, Mighty and Majestic:
The Day their faces will be turned about in the Fire, they will say, "How we wish we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger."
[Al-Ahzab 33:66]
And the eternity of the Fire is like the eternity of Paradise. It is obligatory upon us to hold the belief indicated by the Book of our Lord and the Sunnah of our Prophet that the Fire is eternal. We do not care who said otherwise; rather, we see that whoever said otherwise has erred. If it is based on a belief, foundation, and principle, as said by those who deny the succession of events, such as the Jahmiyyah and others, then he is misguided. And if he said it with good intention, and we know that his intention is good, then he is mistaken, mistaken, and we do not describe him as misguided, because everyone who contradicts the truth is misguided, whether in creed or otherwise. For this reason, when it was said to Ibn Abbas regarding the story of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari when he issued a ruling in what? In a matter of inheritance. Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said in his story with Abu Musa:
I would then be in error and not be one of those who are rightly guided
Mishkat al-Masabih 3059
Because Abu Musa said to the questioner: “And go to Ibn Mas'ud, and he will agree with me on that.”
In any case, whoever contradicts this, meaning the eternity of the Fire, if it is based on a belief, methodology, and principle, then he is undoubtedly misguided and an innovator. And if he did so with good intention and ijtihad, then he is mistaken. Yes? Whether it is Ibn Taymiyyah, Ibn al-Qayyim, or anyone else. We do not care about the men; we care about the truth that the men spoke of.
“And we bear witness to Paradise for everyone for whom the Book and the Sunnah have testified by name or by description”. We stop at this because it has announced the Hour.
