Benefits of the Hadith: (I was not commanded to build up the mosques)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : His saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
I was not commanded ما أمرت
From this, benefits are derived:
First, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) is commanded and prohibited, so he is a servant among the servants of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), because Allah the Exalted commands him and prohibits him.
And among the benefits is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) does not bring the Shari'ah from himself, but he waits for the command of Allah (Mighty and Majestic); if Allah commands him, he acts, and if He does not command him, he refrains.
And among the benefits of this hadith is the indication against building up the mosques, because if building them up were good, what would be the result? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) would have commanded it, because there is no good except that he (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) commanded it and guided people to it, either from himself initially or from Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
And among the benefits of this hadith is that it is better for the mosques to be humble, meaning humble in their construction, and that their ornamentation is contrary to the objective of the Lawgiver, due to his saying:
I was not commanded to build high mosques. ما أمرت بتشييد المساجد
Sunan Abi Dawud 448Sahih (Al-Albani)
This is if the building up does not necessitate a prohibited matter; but if there is a prohibited matter in it, then it is prohibited, and one should not limit oneself to saying that we were not commanded to do so. From this is what is spread on the qiblah of the mosque in some mosques: Allah is spread, and next to it is Muhammad, and the one who looks at them believes that they are what?
The student: Equal.

The Shaykh : That they are equal, and that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) is a peer of Allah the Exalted, because the word is the same and the Name of Glory is on the right and the word Muhammad is on the left. And this is undoubtedly an alien element in Islam; the Muslims did not write anything on the qiblah, but they disliked it, as Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) explicitly stated. So how if such a phrase is written? And I see that whoever sees a mosque with this writing should inform the officials in the Ministry of Islamic Affairs so that his conscience is cleared.
In this hadith from Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), he said:
You will surely ornament them as the Jews and the Christians ornamented them لتزخرفنّها كما زخرفتها اليهود والنّصارى
And this is what happened, that they were ornamented. Sometimes a person enters the mosque and says, what is this? Is this a king's palace? Or a merchant's stone? Until sometimes you find the cushions soft, as if they are sleeping cushions. And this is the excessive luxury that Muslims should not become accustomed to. We ask Allah for guidance.
The student: Amen.
