The Shaykh : Now, the benefits that contradict [other views], among the benefits are:
One of the benefits of the hadith of Abu Hurayrah is the prohibition of selling food if it was sold by measure until it has been measured.
And among the benefits is that anything other than food is like it, meaning that anything other than food is like it by analogy.
And among the benefits of the hadith is that the Lawgiver has a consideration for keeping people away from any transaction in which a dispute might arise, and for this reason He prohibited the sale of this item until the connection of the first seller to it is finally severed, so that no dispute occurs.
And among its benefits is that a person does not dispose of a thing until his possession of it is complete, meaning until it is in his complete possession, so that the matter does not turn out differently and he falls into difficulty. For this benefit, there is a matter in the hadith that follows, the hadith of 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb (may Allah be pleased with him).
