Is the young child who is brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) considered a Companion?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : We said that a Companion is one who met the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while believing in him, and then died upon that faith. So, is the young child who lived in the era of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called a Companion?

The Shaykh : What is the point of difficulty for you?

The questioner : He is a child who does not understand.

The Shaykh : The son of a Muslim is a Muslim, and the son of two Muslims is a Muslim. Do you know who the two Muslims are?

The questioner : ....

The Shaykh : It is difficult. What is difficult!

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : I mean, if his father is a Muslim and his mother is a disbeliever, or vice versa, he is a Muslim, because the child follows the better of the two parents in religion, do you understand? And he follows the worse of the two parents in permissibility, and he follows whom in lineage and loyalty?

The questioner : The father.

The Shaykh : The father. And he follows whom in ownership?

The questioner : The mother.

The Shaykh : The mother. Do you understand? How many are these?

The questioner : Four people.

The Shaykh : Four. He follows the better of the two parents in religion, and the worse of the two parents in permissibility, prohibition, purity, and impurity, and the father in lineage and loyalty, and the mother in ownership and freedom. Fine, but the difficulty for you is not in this. The difficulty is whether he met the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was young, whether he was in his company?
This is the point of difficulty. But the scholars said: The norm is that the Companions did not have a child born to them without bringing him to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) to have him chew dates for him. This is the principle. Yes.
