Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Mas'ud narrated to us, saying: Yahya narrated to us from Isma'il, saying: Qays ibn Abi Hazim narrated to me from Jarir ibn Abdullah, who said:
I gave the pledge of allegiance to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) for the following: 1. offer prayers perfectly 2. pay the Zakat (obligatory charity) 3. and be sincere and true to every Muslim. بايعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على إقام الصلاة وإيتاء الزكاة والنصح لكل مسلم
Sahih al-Bukhari 57
.

The Shaykh : Yes. The point is his statement:
and give sincere advice to every Muslim والنصح لكل مسلم
...
He says:
I gave the pledge of allegiance to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) for offering the prayers perfectly paying the Zakat and giving good advice to every Muslim. بايعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم على إقام الصلاة وإيتاء الزكاة والنصح لكل مسلم
Sahih al-Bukhari 2715
, some of the brothers mentioned to me that as part of this pledge of allegiance, he bought a horse for two hundred dirhams or dinars, so he went and tested it, and the horse was worth more, so he returned to the seller and said: Your horse is worth four hundred, so he said: I have already sold it to you, he said: Sincere advice to every Muslim, then he went and tested it, and it was worth six hundred, so he returned to him and said: The horse is worth six hundred, so he gave him up to eight hundred, why?
Because every person gives sincere advice to his brothers, he loves for them what he loves for himself, and it is known that if you sell something for less than its value, you would love for its full value to be paid, a person may be ignorant, or he may be heedless, or he may be in need of dirhams so he sells it and breaks it as the common people say, so part of sincere advice is that you give sincere advice to your brother even in such a matter, yes.

The questioner : Shaykh, may Allah reward you, you mentioned that some of the brothers mentioned to you.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : And the story, the case of the horse, did it not happen to Jarir ibn Abdullah al-Bajali?

The Shaykh : Yes, yes, it is correct, what is the issue?
The reciter: O Shaykh, the brother understood that the one who told you ...

The Shaykh : No, some of the brothers mentioned that Jarir ibn Abdullah.

The questioner : What.

The Shaykh : No, no, meaning he himself, no, no, because I have not looked into it in the biography of Jarir, but he mentioned that as part of his sincere advice, Jarir's advice, that he did such and such.

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : I said he pledged with him to give sincere advice to every Muslim, and as part of his sincere advice,

The questioner : what some of the brothers mentioned ...

The Shaykh : No, no, it is not some of the brothers, it is Jarir ibn Abdullah.
The reciter: Shaykh, the commentator says al-Tabarani narrated it.

The Shaykh : Al-Tabarani, yes, good, did he mention the story?
The reciter: He says: "So Jarir, when he bought something or sold it, would say to his partner: Know that what we took from you is more beloved to us than what we gave you, so choose, and al-Tabarani narrated in his biography that his slave bought him a horse for three hundred, so when he saw it, he came to his partner and said: Your horse is better than three hundred, so he kept increasing the price until he gave him eight hundred. Al-Qurtubi said it was a pledge of allegiance".

The Shaykh : Yes, very well.
