Continuation of the explanation: He said, “I understood from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a mouthful of saliva that he spat in my face when I was five years old, from a bucket.”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This is a hadith of Mahmud al-Rabi', and in it is evidence that a person may possess understanding before the age of seven, because he says, “when I was five years old,” so he affirmed understanding for himself, saying, “I understood the saliva.” In this is evidence that a child does not forget what happens to him, and this is the reality. One of us may remember that so-and-so hit him when he was five years old, or gave him a sweet when he was five years old, and he remembers this, does he not? Or he was taken out for a picnic, yes, he remembers this. So the young child does not forget. For this reason, we encourage the young ones to memorize the Book of Allah, because their memorization of the Book of Allah from a young age leads to the Qur'an remaining in their minds. Yes.
