The benefit of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “Whoever does an evil deed will not be recompensed except the like of it, and whoever does a good deed, whether male or female, while he is a believer, then those will enter Paradise and will be provided for therein without any reckoning”

Then he said: [Ghafir 40:40] to the end of it. Among the benefits in it are:
That the doing of an evil deed does not increase in sin beyond the measure of the evil deed, as He said here:[Ghafir 40:40].
And among the benefits of the verse is that in the context of warning, one should begin with what indicates warning before beginning with what indicates encouragement. For here he began with the evil deed and then followed it with the good deed. Look at the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, in the context of mentioning the rulings of the Shari'ah, where He said:[Al-Ma'idah 5:98] And when He, Exalted and Majestic is He, wanted to speak about Himself and clarify the perfection of His attributes, He said: [Al-Hijr 15:49-50] So for every context there is a fitting statement. Therefore, a person should arrange his meanings according to what the situation requires, and not throw out speech haphazardly. And the favor of Allah is given to whom He wills. A person may want this thing and want to arrange his speech and build it upon what the situation requires, but his expression betrays him. However, if a person seeks help from Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, and relies upon Him, Allah will make the matter easy for him.
And among the benefits of this noble verse is that a deed is not accepted unless it is good, and it does not benefit its doer unless it is good.
Now, we mentioned that the good deed is that in which the conditions of acceptance are gathered, and they are: sincerity and following the Sunnah. With the absence of sincerity, a person becomes one who associates partners with Allah, and with the absence of following the Sunnah, a person becomes an innovator. For this reason, a deed is not accepted unless it is pure and in accordance with the Shari'ah.
So with the absence of sincerity, a person falls into shirk (associating partners with Allah), and with the absence of following the Sunnah, a person falls into bid'ah (religious innovation). Which of the two is more severe? The first. And the second may be [more severe] according to the nature of the deviation. But shirk, in that it is shirk, is greater than bid'ah. It has been said that bid'ah is more severe and greater because Allah said: [Al-A'raf: 33], and the verse is in a gradual order from the lower to the higher. And the one who commits bid'ah harms himself and harms others because he becomes an imam who calls to the opposition of the messengers. And what appears is that shirk, in that it is shirk, is greater, but what results from bid'ah may be more severe than what results from shirk.
And among the benefits of this noble verse is that males and females share in the reward and the punishment. This means that Allah does not punish a female more than the punishment of a male, nor a male more than the punishment of a female. Likewise, He does not reward a male more than He rewards a female, nor a female more than He rewards a male, as He said in this verse:[Ali 'Imran 3:195].
And similar to it is the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Al-Imran: 195]. Yes.
And among the benefits of this noble verse is that a good deed does not benefit unless it is built upon faith, as He said: And the clause, as you know, is in the position of an accusative as a state (hal), meaning while he is a believer.
And based on this, we ask: Does the deed of the hypocrite benefit him? No, because of the absence of faith; he is not a believer.
Now, is faith that you believe in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers and the Last Day and the divine decree, its good and its evil? Or is it a faith beyond all of that? The answer is the second. Among the components of faith upon which good deeds must be built is that you believe in the reward for the deed. For this reason, when a person does a good deed while hoping for this reward, there is no doubt that he will increase in desire for the deed and increase in excellence in the deed. Because he knows that the merchandise is according to the price. So if you are working while feeling that you will be recompensed for this deed with a complete recompense, you will perfect the deed so that the reward and recompense are perfected for you. And this is an important matter that a person often overlooks, regarding his intending thereby the reward that Allah has prepared for the doer of this deed.
And among the benefits of this noble verse is that the provision of Paradise is without any reckoning. This means that no compensation is demanded from the person, and no liability attaches to him, as He said:[Ghafir 40:40].
Whoever does an evil deed
That the doing of an evil deed does not increase in sin beyond the measure of the evil deed, as He said here:
Whoever does an evil deed will not be recompensed except by the like thereof
And among the benefits of the verse is that in the context of warning, one should begin with what indicates warning before beginning with what indicates encouragement. For here he began with the evil deed and then followed it with the good deed. Look at the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, in the context of mentioning the rulings of the Shari'ah, where He said:
Know that Allah is severe in penalty and that Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
(49) [O Muhammad], inform My servants that it is I who am the Forgiving, the Merciful. (50) And that it is My punishment which is the painful punishment.
And among the benefits of this noble verse is that a deed is not accepted unless it is good, and it does not benefit its doer unless it is good.

It has been said that bid'ah is more severe and greater because Allah said:
Say, "My Lord has only forbidden immoralities - what is apparent of them and what is concealed - and sin, and oppression without right, and that you associate with Allah that for which He has not sent down authority, and that you say about Allah that which you do not know."
And among the benefits of this noble verse is that males and females share in the reward and the punishment.
