regarding some guidelines for calling to Allah the Exalted, and whether one should abandon the call if he knows that the person has not responded.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This is, in reality, an admonition or a command. The call is general in nature, but going to a specific person and advising him is, in fact, an admonition. If you have authority over him, it is a command to do what is right. As you know, this has various conditions. A person is not obligated to leave what concerns him in his religion and his worldly affairs in order to go to people, knock on their doors, and command them or admonish them. This is not obligatory.
The student: ... whoever among you sees ...

The Shaykh : Yes,
Whoeverمن رأى
But the Messenger did not say, "Seek out the seeing of what is wrong." As for the one who does not pray, I can admonish him in the market or in the mosque. For this reason, we find that people nowadays find it burdensome when someone knocks on their door to admonish them or command them, and perhaps this leads to what is called a reaction.
