Explanation of the author's statement: The chapter on what has come regarding the cause of the disbelief of the children of Adam and their abandonment of their religion being the exaggeration in the righteous

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : ... and regarding disbelief, meaning the cause of their abandonment of "their religion" is the object of abandonment, because abandonment is a verbal noun added to its doer, and their religion is the object of the verb.
And his saying: "is the exaggeration", this pronoun is called the separating pronoun, and it has been mentioned previously that it is one of the tools of emphasis. And the exaggeration is the predicate of "that" because, according to the stronger opinion, the separating pronoun has no grammatical position.
The cause, he said, the cause, what is the cause?
The cause in language: is everything by which one reaches something else. From this is His saying, the Exalted:
let him extend a rope to the ceiling, then cut off فليمدد بسبب إلى السماء ثم ليقطع
[Al-Hajj 22:15]
meaning by something that connects it to the sky. And from this also, the rope is called a cause because a person reaches by it the drawing of water from the well.
And as for in technical terminology: the cause, according to the people of the principles of jurisprudence, is that from whose existence existence necessarily follows, and from whose non-existence non-existence necessarily follows. From whose existence existence necessarily follows, and from whose non-existence non-existence necessarily follows, meaning that if the cause exists, the caused thing exists, and if the cause does not exist, the caused thing does not exist, unless there is another cause. And his saying, the cause is disbelief, I have in my copy Adam... in my copy it is correct, the children of Adam, this is the correct one.
"The children of Adam": includes men and women, because it has been mentioned to us previously that when it is said "the sons of so-and-so" and they are a tribe, it includes their males and females. But when it is said "the sons of Zayd" meaning a specific person, the intended meaning is the males, yes?
And his saying: "is the exaggeration", exaggeration is transgressing the limit in praise, whether by disparagement or by commendation. This is the exaggeration: transgressing the limit in praise, whether by disparagement or by commendation.
Is disparagement called praise? Ah? It is called that, and from this is the hadith of the funeral that passed by and they spoke ill of it.
And his saying: "the exaggeration in the righteous": meaning both sides, regarding the exaggeration in the righteous, is it transgressing the limit by disparagement or by commendation? By commendation, good.
And the righteous one is the one who fulfilled the right of Allah and the right of the servants.
And his saying: "the cause is the exaggeration", in this is evidence for the addition of a thing, or what is evidence of reality, because it is not correct for us to say, according to a scholar, that it is evidence, but in the usage of adding a thing to its cause without attributing it to Allah. And is this permissible or not permissible? Permissible, permissible, if the cause is a reality and correct, then it is permissible to attribute the thing to its known cause in reality, such that this cause has been established by the Shari'ah or by sense and reality. Did you understand, everyone? As for a person saying... something, he says Allah is strong, this, although it is permissible and a reality, may lead the common people to something that is not praiseworthy, like the one who asked... many... he said: ... . Is this appropriate? This is not appropriate.
In any case, attributing a thing to its known cause in reality, either by the way of the Shari'ah or by the way of sense and reality, this is not denied. It is not denied, and it has passed us that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Were it not for me, he would have been in the bottom-most depth of the Fire. لولا أنا - عمه أبا طالب - لولا أنا لكان في الدرك الأسفل من النار
Sahih al-Bukhari 6208
