The ruling on one who remembers while praying in congregation that he has not performed ablution

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: A man is praying with the congregation, and during the prayer he remembers that he is not in a state of ritual purity. Does he complete the prayer? Or does he leave despite the difficulty it causes him?

A: It is not permissible for him to complete the prayer while he is not in a state of ritual purity. He must leave, perform ablution, and pray. If he is unable to do so because of the length of the rows, he should sit until the prayer is finished, then leave, purify himself, and pray. This is based on the saying of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) :
So fear Allah as much as you are ableفَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
[Al-Taghabun: 16] and the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Salat will not be accepted without purificationلا تقبل صلاة بغير طهور
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1Sahih (Darussalam)
It was narrated by Muslim in his Sahih. May Allah guide them all.
