The ruling on sending slaughtered animals to the family of the deceased and inviting them to it

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Regarding the animals slaughtered at the time of condolence, if a person brings them to the family of the deceased and invites them to eat, what is the ruling on them? And what is the ruling on sitting with them at the condolence gathering?

Answer:
It is the Sunnah for the relatives, friends, and neighbors of the deceased to send food to the family of the deceased to relieve them of the burden of cooking; for they have been visited by what occupies them, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered his family to send food to the family of Ja'far ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him)when the news of his death arrived, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
for indeed something has happened to them that will keep them busyإنه قد جاءهم ما يشغلهم
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 998Hasan (Darussalam)
As for sending slaughtered animals, this is contrary to the Sunnah; for it burdens them with slaughtering and cooking them. It should not be done, as it is contrary to the Sunnah.
