Reciting Surat al-Sajdah and the prostration of recitation in the Fajr prayer on Friday

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: Is reciting Surat al-Sajdah and performing the prostration of recitation in the Fajr prayer on Friday part of the Sunnah? And should one persist in doing so if it is part of the Sunnah?

A: It is the Sunnah for the imam to recite Surat al-Sajdah in the first rak'ah of the Fajr prayer on Friday and to perform the prostration of recitation in it, and in the second rak'ah to recite: (Has there come over man a period of time?) This was narrated by the two Shaykhs from the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) , and Muslim narrated it from the hadith of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), and al-Tabarani narrated it from the hadith of Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) , and Ibn Mas'ud added in his hadith:
That he (peace and blessings be upon him) used to persist in doing thatأنه كان ﷺ يديم ذلك
meaning: he persisted in reciting the two aforementioned surahs, so the Sunnah is to persist.
