The ruling on breaking the fast while traveling by comfortable means of transport

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: If one travels by comfortable means of transport, is it prescribed for him to break the fast in Ramadan?

Answer: Allah the Exalted says:
So whoever among you is ill or on a journey [during them] - then an equal number of days [are to be made up]فَمَن كَانَ مِنكُم مَّرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِّنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَر
[al-Baqarah:184] So Allah permitted breaking the fast while traveling with an absolute permission, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Allah the Most High loves that His permissions be practiced, just as he dislikes that disobedience to Him be committed.إن الله يحب أن تؤتى رخصه كما يكره أن تؤتى معصيته
Bulugh al-Maram 2:341
, and breaking the fast while traveling is a recommended practice (sunnah), as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) did so . However, if one knows that breaking his fast while traveling will make making it up difficult for him later, and will burden him in the future, and he fears that it will be hard for him, then he should fast, keeping this meaning in mind, for that is better, and there is no blame on him, whether the means of transport are comfortable or difficult, due to the generality of the evidence. And success is from Allah.
