The Merit of Completing the Recitation of the Qur'an in Ramadan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: Can the merit of completing the recitation of the Qur'an be derived from the review of the Qur'an by Jibril (peace be upon him) with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in Ramadan?

Answer: The review itself is derived from this, and it is recommended for the believer to review the Qur'an with someone who benefits and profits him; because the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) reviewed with Jibril for the sake of benefit; because Jibril is the one who comes from Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and is the messenger between Allah and the messengers, so Jibril must have benefited the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with things from the side of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), from the side of the letters of the Qur'an, and from the side of its meanings that Allah intended.
So if a person reviews with one who helps him to understand the Qur'an, and helps him to establish its words, then this is required, just as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reviewed with Jibril. And the intention is not that Jibril is better than the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but rather Jibril is the messenger who came from Allah to convey to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) what Allah commanded him regarding the Qur'an, its words, and its meanings. So the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) benefits from Jibril in this respect, not that Jibril is better than him (peace and blessings be upon him). Rather, he is the best of mankind and better than the angels (peace and blessings be upon him). But the review contains much good for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and for the Ummah; because it is a review of what comes from Allah, and to benefit from what comes from Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He).
And in it is another benefit, which is: that review at night is better than during the day; because this review was at night, and it is known that the night is closer to the gathering and presence of the heart, and the benefit is greater than review during the day.
And in it is also among the benefits: the lawfulness of the review and that it is a righteous deed, even if it is not in Ramadan; because there is benefit for each of them, and if they are more than two, there is no harm in each of them benefiting from his brother, encouraging him to read, and enlivening him. He may not be enlivened if he sits alone, but if he has a companion who reviews with him or companions, that is more courageous for him and more enlivening for him, along with the great benefit in what occurs between them of studying and reviewing what may be difficult for them. All of this contains much good.
And it can be understood from this that reading the Qur'an completely by the imam to the congregation in Ramadan is a type of this review; because in this there is benefit for them regarding the entire Qur'an. For this reason, Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) loved for the one who leads them to complete the recitation of the Qur'an with them. And this is of the kind of the action of the Salaf in loving to hear the entire Qur'an. But this is not a reason to hasten and not be deliberate in his recitation, nor to seek humility and tranquility. Rather, seeking these matters is more preferable than attending to the completion of the recitation.
