The ruling on what some of those who fast do, namely sleeping during the day and staying up at night

Question: There are some, O Shaykh, who stay up until Fajr, then they sleep after performing this prayer until the time for the Zuhr prayer enters, so they perform it, and then they return to sleep until 'Asr, and so on until the time for breaking the fast arrives. What is the ruling in Islam regarding this behavior?
Answer: There is no blame on sleeping during the day and night if it does not result in the loss of any obligatory duties or the commission of any forbidden acts. It is prescribed for the Muslim, whether he is fasting or not, to avoid staying up at night and to hasten to sleep after what Allah facilitates for him of standing in night prayer, then to rise for the pre-dawn meal if it is Ramadan; because the pre-dawn meal is a confirmed recommended practice, and it is the meal of the pre-dawn; due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sunan Ibn Majah 1692Sahih (Darussalam) It is agreed upon as authentic. And his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): Jami` at-Tirmidhi 709Sahih (Darussalam) It was narrated by Muslim in his Sahih.
It is also obligatory for the fasting person and others to maintain all five prayers in congregation, and to beware of being preoccupied with them by sleep or anything else.
It is also obligatory for the fasting person and others to perform all the duties that must be performed at their times for the government or others, and not to be preoccupied with them by sleep or anything else. Likewise, it is obligatory for him to strive to seek lawful sustenance that he and those he supports need, and not to be preoccupied with that by sleep or anything else.
In conclusion, my advice to everyone, men and women, the fasting and others, is to fear Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) in all circumstances, to maintain the performance of obligatory duties at their times in the manner prescribed by Allah, and to beware, with all caution, of being preoccupied with them by sleep or other permissible things or otherwise. And if being preoccupied with them is by something of sins, then the sin becomes greater and the crime more severe. May Allah rectify the conditions of the Muslims, guide them in the religion, keep them firm upon the truth, and rectify their leaders. Indeed, He is Generous and Noble.
