The Shaykh : In any case, it is necessary to reiterate that his statement (peace be upon him) in this authentic hadith: does not indicate that he intended the Ummah of response, which would be an indication to interpret the declaration of permissibility as practical declaration of permissibility. This is because the Ummah is also divided into two categories, like disbelief, open sinfulness, oppression, and hypocrisy. The declaration of permissibility may refer to the Ummah of invitation, which includes both the Muslim and the disbeliever, or it may refer to the Ummah of response, in which case those who were invited to Islam and disbelieved in it are not included.
