What is the criterion for contentment with divine decree?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : If it is established for them... contentment with divine decree?

The Shaykh : Contentment?

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : The contentment that we categorized in the context of calamities; we do not say that its opposite is dissatisfaction. We say its opposite is merely its absence. This is because if we made its opposite dissatisfaction, it would necessitate that contentment means patience, since patience is that a person does not become dissatisfied with the decree and destiny of Allah. Let us conclude the issues, unless it is necessary.

The questioner : If a person is healthy... and is not tested, is it understood from the hadith that he should review himself, meaning?

The Shaykh : Yes, indeed. For this reason, some of the Salaf, when someone said to them, "I have been tested" or "I have fallen ill" or something like that, would say to him words like what you said: "Look into your affair, and do not be among those whose good things were hastened for them in this worldly life."
He said: "There are issues in it"

The questioner : ... the believer ...

The Shaykh : No, it is not valid.

The questioner : For this reason...

The Shaykh : He is not tested with the beneficial test.
