Explanation of the author's statement: "And they do not distort the words from their contexts."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : But beware of what the author mentioned: "And they do not distort the words from their contexts". Al-kalim is the plural of kalimah (word). As for al-kalim, it refers to the speech of Allah and the speech of His Messenger. They do not distort it from its contexts, meaning from its meanings. For example, Allah the Exalted said:
Rather, both His hands are extended بَلْ يَدَاهُ مَبْسُوطَتَانِ
[Al-Ma'idah 5:64]
What do they say about it? They say: It is a real hand belonging to Allah, without asking how (takyif) or likening Allah to creation (tamthil).
The distorters say: "His power" or "His blessing." But the people of the Sunnah do not say: "The power is one thing and the hand is another thing, and the blessing is one thing and the hand is another thing." They do not distort the words from their contexts. It has been mentioned previously that distortion is the work of the Jews.
Among the Jews are those who distort words from their [proper] usages مِنَ الَّذِينَ هَادُوا يُحَرِّفُونَ الْكَلِمَ عَنْ مَوَاضِعِهِ
[An-Nisa 4:46]
So whoever distorts the texts of the Book and the Sunnah has a resemblance to the Jews. So beware of this; do not imitate those against whom anger was invoked, from whom Allah made apes and swine, and who worshipped the taghut. Do not distort; keep the speech as Allah and His Messenger intended it. And from the words of al-Shafi'i, what is reported from him is: "I believe in Allah and in what came from Allah according to the intent of Allah, and I believe in the Messenger of Allah and in what came from the Messenger of Allah according to the intent of the Messenger of Allah. I do not distort and I do not change."
