The Shaykh : By day, and that the day comes when the night arrives. No one can [do otherwise]. What do we call this? Cosmic signs. So what is the deviation in them?
The deviation in them is to attribute them to other than Allah, saying, “This is from such-and-such a wali (close friend of Allah),” or “from such-and-such a prophet,” or “from such-and-such an angel.” To attribute them to other than Allah.
Second: Or to believe that Allah has a partner in them, saying, “One brings the night and Allah brings the day,” or “One brings the day and Allah brings the night.” What do we say? Is it deviation or not? It is deviation.
Or to believe that Allah has an assistant in them, that Allah the Exalted has an assistant in them. Yes, he says, “The kingdom belongs to Allah,” but Allah the Exalted has someone who assists Him, and without the assistance of this assistant, Allah would not have been able to act or would not have been able to do it. What do we call this? Deviation. For this reason, Allah the Exalted said:[Saba 34:22] Thus, He negated everything related to partnership, assistance, aid, or independence. Then He came with the fourth: [Saba 34:23] Since the polytheists used to say, “Yes, these idols do not own, do not partner, and do not assist, but they are intercessors,” He said: [Saba 34:23] thereby cutting off every cause to which the polytheists clung. The important point is that deviation in the signs of Allah occurs in the cosmic signs. Yes, it occurs by what? Yes, hold on, Muhammad?

The Shaykh : Or to make a partner for Allah in them, or an assistant. All of this is deviation in the cosmic signs of Allah. Good.

What do we call this? Deviation. For this reason, Allah the Exalted said:
Say, [O Muhammad], "Invoke those you claim [as deities] besides Allah." They do not possess an atom's weight [of ability] in the heavens or on the earth, and they do not have therein any partnership [with Him], nor is there for Him from among them any assistant.
And intercession does not benefit with Him except for one whom He permits.
وَلا تَنْفَعُ الشَّفَاعَةُ عِنْدَهُ إِلاّ لِمَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُAnd intercession does not benefit with Him except for one whom He permits.
