Explanation of the author's statement and his saying: (And We carried him on a [vessel] with planks and rivets * Moving by Our eyes, a recompense for one who disbelieved)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
And We carried him on a [construction of] planks and nails,
[Al-Qamar 54:13]
The pronoun in this phrase refers to Noah (peace be upon him), and His saying:
on a [construction of] planks and nails,
[Al-Qamar 54:13]
means on a ship.
[construction of] planks and nails,
[Al-Qamar 54:13]
This ship was being built by him (peace be upon him), and his people would pass by and mock him, so he would say:
If you ridicule us, then we will ridicule you just as you ridicule.
[Hud 11:38]
I built it by the command of Allah, under the care and protection of Allah. And Allah said to him:
And construct the ship under Our observation and Our inspiration
[Hud 11:37]
So Allah the Exalted was looking at him as he built the ship and inspired him how to build it. He built it, and Allah the Exalted described it here in His saying:
[construction of] planks and nails,
[Al-Qamar 54:13]
with ذات
meaning a vessel with planks and pegs. The planks are known, namely wooden planks, and the pegs are what the wood is fastened with, such as nails, ropes, and the like. Most exegetes agree that what is meant by them are the nails with which the timbers are fastened.
It runs with our eyes
This is the evidence.
sail تجري
meaning having planks and pegs, under the eyes of Allah Mighty and Majestic. The intended meaning of "eyes" here is only two eyes, as previously mentioned. And the meaning of
moving by تجري بها
is accompanied by Our gaze with Our eyes, so the preposition "ba" here
The student: For accompaniment.

The Shaykh : For accompaniment. On what does it move? It moves on the water that came down from the sky and gushed forth from the earth, because Noah (peace be upon him)
So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help."
[Al-Qamar 54:10]
(11) Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring down (12) And caused the earth to burst with springs
[Al-Qamar 54:11-12]
So this ship moved by the eye of Allah, Mighty and Majestic. Here, someone might ask: Why did He not say "We carried him on a ship" or "We carried him on a vessel," but rather said
on a [construction of] planks and nails,
[Al-Qamar 54:13]
? The answer to this is that He shifted from the expression "vessel" or "ship" to the expression "with planks and rivets" to maintain the harmony of the verses and their rhyming endings. If He had said "We carried him on a vessel," this verse would not have harmonized with what came before it or what came after it. If He had said "on a ship," it would have been the same, do you understand? But in order for the verses to harmonize in their rhyming endings and in their words, He said:
on a [construction of] planks and nails,
[Al-Qamar 54:13]

The second aspect: In order for people to learn how to build ships, and that they are made of planks and nails—planks and nails. For this reason, Allah the Exalted said:
And We left it as a sign
[Al-Qamar 54:15]
Yes,
so is there any who will remember?
[Al-Qamar 54:15]
So Allah the Exalted left its knowledge as a sign for creation to build as Allah, Glorified and Exalted, inspired Noah. If you ask, "Why did He not say 'We carried him on a ship with planks and rivets'?" We say: In order to attend to the construction of this ship and its materials, and that it is made of planks and rivets, attention was paid to emphasizing its material and how it is manufactured. The parallel to this is His saying, the Exalted:
[Commanding him], "Make full coats of mail أن اعمل سابغات
[Saba 34:11]
And He did not say "complete armor" in order to attend to what? To the benefit of this armor, which is that it be complete and comprehensive. This is like this verse. And His saying:
It runs with our eyes
We say in it what we said regarding His saying, the Exalted:
Indeed, We are with you, seeing
