Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And We carried him on a vessel of planks and pegs)]
We begin this session, as is our custom, by discussing what Allah Mighty and Majestic has facilitated regarding the verses we reached in Surat al-Qamar. Allah Glorified and Exalted is He mentioned the story of Noah in a concise manner,So the Exalted and Majestic said: (The people of Noah before them denied, so they denied Our servant and said, "He is a madman and has been warned. So he called his Lord, saying, 'Indeed, I am overcome, so give me victory.' So We opened the gates of the sky with pouring rain, and We burst forth springs from the earth, so the waters met for a matter already decreed. And We carried him on a vessel of planks and pegs, sailing under Our eyes as a recompense for whoever was disbelieved) [al-Qamar: 9-14] .

His statement:
And We carried himوَحَمَلْنَاهُ
Meaning: We carried Noah and his family, except those among them for whom the decree had already preceded, and Allah the Exalted commanded him to carry therein two of every kind and those who believed with him:
But none had believed with him, except a few.وَمَا آمَنَ مَعَهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ
[Hud: 40] , Allah carried him on a vessel of planks and pegs,Meaning: on a ship (of planks and pegs) , and Noah (peace and blessings be upon him) was building it when his people would pass by him and mock him,So he says:
If you ridicule us, then we will ridicule you just as you ridicule. (39) And you are going to know who will get a punishment that will disgrace him [on earth] and upon whom will descend an enduring punishment [in the Hereafter]."إِنْ تَسْخَرُوا مِنَّا فَإِنَّا نَسْخَرُ مِنْكُمْ كَمَا تَسْخَرُونَ * فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ يَأْتِيهِ عَذَابٌ يُخْزِيهِ وَيَحِلُّ عَلَيْهِ عَذَابٌ مُقِيمٌ
[Hud: 38-39] .
This ship is described by Allah as
On a vessel of planksعَلَى ذَاتِ أَلْوَاحٍ
[al-Qamar: 13] and "planks" is a plural of exaggeration, which indicates two things: the first is the multitude of its planks.

And the second thing: The greatness of these planks and their strength.
It is fitting for a ship that carries humans on its back to be one of planks and pegs, of great planks.

His statement:
And pegsوَدُسُرٍ
Meaning: nails,And it was said: Indeed, "dusur" is what wood is tied with, so it is broader than nails; because wood may be tied with nails and may be tied with ropes, so the important thing is that the fastening of these planks to one another was strong. And Allah Glorified and Exalted is He mentioned the material of the ship's construction, that it is of wood and nails or the ties that bind those woods, so that this would be an instruction for humans to build ships in this manner.
