The Shaykh : And He, Blessed and Exalted is He, said: [Ash-Shu'ara 26:218-219] Before this verse, He said: [Ash-Shu'ara 26:217-219] The seeing here means seeing with the eyes, because His saying: cannot be interpreted as meaning knowledge, because Allah knows it when he stands and before he stands. Also, we say [Ash-Shu'ara 26:219] also supports that the intended meaning of seeing here is seeing
The student: with the eyes
The Shaykh : with the eyes. Good. And His saying:[Al-Anfal 8:61] means Allah, He is In this verse here, there is a separating pronoun It has passed us that one of its benefits is restriction. Is the restriction here real, meaning that nothing of the restricted thing exists outside the thing it is restricted to? Or is it relative? The answer is that it is relative, because the intended meaning of the Hearing here is the One possessing perfect hearing that perceives every sound, and this is specific to Allah, Mighty and Majestic. As for hearing in general, it can be from a human, as in His saying, the Exalted: [Al-Insan 76:2] So Allah, the Exalted, called the human Likewise, we say the Knowing, for the human is knowing, as Allah, the Exalted, said: But absolute knowledge, meaning perfect knowledge, this is specific to Allah, Blessed is He. And His saying: [At-Tawbah 9:105] What is before the verse?
The student:[At-Tawbah 9:103]
The Shaykh : Yes[At-Tawbah 9:103-105]
The student: And you will be returned
The Shaykh :[At-Tawbah 9:94] In this verse, it says: [At-Tawbah 9:105] Is the seeing here knowledge-based or visual?
The student: Knowledge-based
The Shaykh : Or comprehensive
The student: Comprehensive
The Shaykh : Comprehensive, because our knowledge of what others do may be through seeing or through knowledge from others, meaning someone informed us that he is doing it. So in His saying:[At-Tawbah 9:105] there is an affirmation of seeing in both its meanings: knowledge-based seeing and visual seeing.
The author, may Allah have mercy on him, combined the attribute of seeing with the attribute of hearing in these verses. Earlier, we divided hearing into two categories: hearing which is the perception of sounds or what is heard. We mentioned that this category has three types: what implies support, what implies threat, and what is intended to mean encompassing.
Seeing is divided into two categories: seeing meaning knowledge, and seeing meaning the perception of what is seen. Both are affirmed for Allah, Mighty and Majestic. He is Knowing of matters and is above them. Good. Regarding hearing, we mentioned from its examples that imply victory and support, His saying, the Exalted:[Taha 20:46]
And it is possible to say that seeing, which means the perception of what is seen, is also divided into two categories: a category that implies support, such as:[Taha 20:46] Where do we place the line?
The student: And I see
The Shaykh : And I see, affirming seeing. And a category intended to mean encompassing and knowledge, such as
The student: ...
The Shaykh : No, what is it? Hearing, seeing
The student: So Allah will see
The Shaykh :[At-Tawbah 9:105] And it may sometimes imply threat. It may imply threat, such as when seeing is linked to a criminal act or oppression or something similar. The intended meaning is threat. Good. His saying: What is the intended meaning?
The student: The one praying
The Shaykh : Yes.
The student: The one praying
The Shaykh : Yes, but what does it imply? Support or threat or encompassing?
The student: Encompassing
The Shaykh : It appears, and Allah knows best, that it is encompassing, because He said:[Ash-Shu'ara 26:217-218] Yes, that is right.
(218) Who sees you when you arise (219) And your movement among those who prostrate.

Take, [O, Muhammad], from their wealth a charity
خذ من أموالهم صدقةThe Shaykh : Yes
(103) Take, [O, Muhammad], from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invoke [Allah 's blessings] upon them. Indeed, your invocations are reassurance for them. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing. (104) Do they not know that it is Allah who accepts repentance from His servants and receives charities and that it is Allah who is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful? (105) And say, "Do [as you will], for Allah will see your deeds, and [so, will] His Messenger and the believers. And you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do."
The student: And you will be returned
