Explanation of the author's statement and his saying: (And to Allah belongs might, and to His Messenger, and to the believers)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And his saying:
And to Allah belongs [all] honor, and to His Messenger, and to the believers ولله العزة ولرسوله وللمؤمنين
[Al-Munafiqun 63:8]
And his saying about Iblis:
By your might, I will surely mislead them all فبعزتك لأغوينهم أجمعين
[Sad 38:82]
In these two verses, the affirmation of might for Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) is established. And the name of Allah indicates this. What is it?
The student: The Mighty

The Shaykh : The Mighty. The scholars mentioned that might is divided into three categories: the might of power, the might of subjugation, and the might of immunity.
The might of power, the might of subjugation, and the might of immunity. They said that the meaning of the might of power is that Allah the Exalted is of noble power, meaning He has no peer, no peer. And I think it passed us in the terminology that one of the categories of the noble report is that some said it is called noble because of its rarity and scarcity in hadith. Yes, so the meaning of the might of power is that Allah the Exalted is of great power, having no peer, noble, meaning rare. The might of subjugation is the might of dominance, meaning He dominates everything and subjugates everything. From this is His saying, the Exalted:
so he said, 'Entrust her to me,' and he overpowered me in speech." فقال أكفلنيها وعزني في الخطاب
[Sad 38:23]
he overpowered me عزني
meaning He overpowered me in speech. So Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) is Mighty, having no one who dominates Him; rather, He dominates everything. As for the might of immunity, its meaning is that Allah the Exalted is immune from any evil or deficiency befalling Him. It is derived from strength and firmness, from strength and firmness. From this is their saying "a firm, strong earth," meaning strong and hard. And in our colloquial language, we say "the earth is firm," meaning strong and solid. These are the meanings of might that Allah the Exalted affirmed for Himself, and they indicate the perfection of His subjugation and dominion, and the perfection of His attributes, and the completeness of His transcendence from deficiency. They indicate the perfection of His subjugation and dominion if we say it is from the might
The student: of subjugation

The Shaykh : of subjugation, and the completeness of His attributes and their perfection, and that there is no peer to them in might
The student: The Decree

The Shaykh : of power, and the completeness of His transcendence from defect and deficiency in the might of immunity. Good.
And his saying:
And to Allah and to His Messenger ولله ولرسوله
Even the Messenger has might. Yes, even the Messenger, and to the believers as well. Even the believers have might and dominance. But we must know that the might that Allah affirmed for His Messenger and for the believers is not like the might of Allah. For the might of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and the believers may sometimes be overcome by the wisdom that Allah the Mighty and Majestic wills. So at Uhud, they did not achieve complete might. Why?
The student: They were overcome

The Shaykh : Because they were overcome in the end. And likewise at Hunayn,
and they turned their backs and fled ولوا مدبرين
and not more than about a hundred men remained with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) out of twelve thousand. Yes, this is also a loss of might. As for the might of Allah the Mighty and Majestic, it can never be lost. And by this we know that the might that Allah affirmed for His Messenger and for the believers is not like the might that He affirmed for Himself. And this can also be derived from the general rule, which is that the agreement of two names does not necessitate the agreement of the things named. The two names may be the same, but the things named may not be the same. And this is common. Good.
