Explanation of the author's statement: "And he takes his book in his right hand, and he takes his book in his left hand or from behind his back, as He, Glorified and Exalted is He, said"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He said: "And they are the pages of deeds, so he takes his book in his right hand", meaning "he takes his book in his right hand". This is a matter of specification, and for this reason it is permissible to begin with it even though it is an indefinite noun. That is, people are divided into those who take their book in their right hand, and they are the believers. This is an indication that the right hand is a sign of honor, and therefore the believer takes his book with it. The disbeliever takes his book in his left hand or from behind his back.
Now, Allah the Exalted mentioned in Surat al-Haqqah who is given his book in his right hand and who is given his book in his left hand. And He mentioned in Surat al-Shu'ara who takes his book in his right hand and who takes his book from behind his back.
And the author brought both of these, saying: "So he takes his book in his right hand, and he takes his book in his left hand or from behind his back".
And "or" here is for variation, not for doubt.
So the apparent meaning of the author's words is that people take their books in three ways: with the right hand, with the left hand, and from behind the back.
But the apparent meaning is that this difference is a difference in attributes. The one who takes his book from behind his back is the one who takes his book in his left hand. So he takes it in his left hand, and his hand is placed from the back. This is very fitting for the action. That he takes it in his left hand is because he is from the people of the left. That it is from behind his back is because when he turned his back to the Book of Allah, or rather when he turned his back to the Book of Allah in this world, it became just that he turn his back to his book, the book of his deeds, on the Day of Resurrection. So on this basis, the left hand is removed so that it is from the back, like this, and I seek refuge in Allah, and he takes it in his left hand, in his left hand behind his back. So the difference is not a difference in entities, but a difference in attributes. The one who takes his book in his left hand is from behind the back. Good.
He says: "As Allah the Exalted said:
(13) And [for] every person We have imposed his fate upon his neck, and We will produce for him on the Day of Resurrection a record which he will encounter spread open. (14) [It will be said], "Read your record. Sufficient is yourself against you this Day as accountant."
[Al-Isra 17:13-14]
"
. Allah is the Greatest!
And [for] every person We have imposed his fate
[Al-Isra 17:13]
, meaning his deed. So "deed" means action, because it flies from the person and he is distinguished by it, and because the person takes it as a bad omen or a good omen. Yes, and because the person also flies with it, rising, or flies with it, descending. So the deed is the action.
We have imposed his fate upon his neck
[Al-Isra 17:13]
, and the strongest connection to a person is what is tied around the neck, because it cannot be separated unless the person perishes. It cannot be separated unless the neck is cut, and if the neck is cut, he dies. But in the hand, in the hand, the hand and what is in it can be cut, and the person remains. So if we want to secure the person, we place the thing around his neck. So this obligates his deed around his neck.
And when the Day of Resurrection comes, he said:
We will produce for him on the Day of Resurrection a record which he will encounter spread open.
[Al-Isra 17:13]
, meaning opened. It does not require effort or hardship to open it, but it is spread out. And it is said to him:
Read your record
, you are sufficient for yourself, and look at what is written for you in it.
Sufficient is yourself against you this Day as accountant." كفى بنفسك اليوم عليك حسيباً
[Al-Isra 17:14]
: And this is the completion of justice and fairness that the reckoning is entrusted to the person himself.
So the rational person, when he hears this verse, must look at what is written in his deeds, what is written in this book which he will find written on the Day of Resurrection.
But we, and praise be to Allah, before us, as long as we are alive, before us is a door that can eliminate all the evil deeds, and that is repentance. So as long as the person is in the time of respite, he can repent. And if he repents to Allah, no matter how great his sin is, Allah will accept his repentance. And even if the sin is repeated from him, and he repents, Allah will accept his repentance. So as long as the matter is in our hands now, we must strive to ensure that nothing is written in this book except righteous deeds. And if evil deeds are written in it, we must strive with utmost effort to erase what is written by repentance.
And he says: "And Allah will reckon the creation". We stop at this.
