The Shaykh : He said: "And among them are the leaders of the religion, and among them are the leaders of the religion upon whose guidance the Muslims have agreed". The leaders of the religion mean the imam: he is the role model and the foundation. The leaders among the people of the Sunnah and the community, the leaders of the religion upon whose guidance the Muslims have agreed, are such as: Imam Ahmad, al-Shafi'i, Malik, Abu Hanifah, Sufyan al-Thawri, al-Awza'i, and others of the famous, well-known imams. All of these are from the people of the Sunnah and the community. Ibn Taymiyyah is also among them, and Shaykh al-Islam Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab. All of these are imams upon whose guidance the Muslims have agreed.
As for the leaders of misguidance from the people of innovation, these are not from the people of the Sunnah and the community; rather, they are in opposition to the people of the Sunnah and the community. And even if they are called imams, some of the imams are imams who call to the Fire, as Allah the Exalted said regarding the family of Pharaoh:[Al-Qasas 28:41]
He said: "And they are the victorious group". The pronoun "they" refers to the people of the Sunnah and the community, the victorious group whom Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has supported, because they are included in His saying, the Exalted:[Ghafir 40:51] So they are supported, and the outcome is for them. But before the victory, there must be hardship, toil, and struggle, because victory requires one who is supported and one against whom the support is directed. Therefore, there must be a struggle and a trial. But as Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
"The truth is supported and tested, so do not be amazed, for this is the custom of the Most Merciful"
Look, "The truth is supported and tested, so do not be amazed, for this is the custom of the Most Merciful"
Do not let weakness, laziness, or cowardice overtake you if you see that things have not succeeded for you at the first attempt. Be patient and repeat it again and again, and be patient with the mockery and ridicule said about you, because the enemies of the religion are many.[Al-Furqan 25:31] Do not let your resolve weaken because you see yourself alone in the field. You are the group, even if you are one, as long as you are with the truth and the truth is with you. Therefore, be confident that you are supported, either in this world or in the Hereafter. [Ghafir 40:51] Moreover, victory in reality is not the victory of the person himself. The true victory is that Allah the Exalted supports the truth to which he calls. That is the victory. As for if he is afflicted with harm in this world, that does not contradict victory at all. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was subjected to great harm, but the end was that he triumphed over those who harmed him and entered Makkah supported, honored, and victorious, after he had left it in fear for his safety (peace and blessings be upon him). So the important thing, my brothers, may Allah bless you, is that despair, cowardice, and timidity do not overtake you. Rather, be patient and await the future, and do not be concerned with the present. If things in the present go smoothly and come to pass as you wish from the first moment, then there is no doubt that it is better. But Allah may test the servant, Allah may test the servant, and make the path of obedience and the path of breaking through these prevailing darknesses and sins difficult for him. If he is patient and seeks reward, then the outcome will be for him without a doubt. For this reason, he said: "And they are the victorious group".

And even if they are called imams, some of the imams are imams who call to the Fire, as Allah the Exalted said regarding the family of Pharaoh:
And We made them leaders inviting to the Fire, and on the Day of Resurrection they will not be helped.
وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَدْعُونَ إِلَى النَّارِ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لَا يُنْصَرُونَHe said: "And they are the victorious group". The pronoun "they" refers to the people of the Sunnah and the community, the victorious group whom Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has supported, because they are included in His saying, the Exalted:
Indeed, We will support Our messengers and those who believe during the life of this world and on the Day when the witnesses will stand -
إِنَّا لَنَنْصُرُ رُسُلَنَا وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَيَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْأَشْهَادُ"The truth is supported and tested, so do not be amazed, for this is the custom of the Most Merciful"
