The Shaykh : These are three things in which there is no likeness to Allah the Exalted: His actions, His attributes, and His essence. For example, He rose above the Throne; this is an action. But does our rising above the Throne resemble His? Does our rising above the bed or the camel resemble it? No. Does He descend to the lowest heaven? Does our descending to the ground from the ceiling resemble it? No. This is regarding the action.
As for the attributes: knowledge, hearing, power, and might. These also do not resemble our attributes. We have knowledge, power, hearing, sight, might, and wisdom, but they do not resemble what Allah the Exalted has of these.
Thirdly: nor in His essence. The essences of the created do not resemble the essence of the Creator (Mighty and Majestic). And know that the word ...
