(The Meaning of al-Muqallat and the Exhortation to Weep from Fear of Allah and to Stand in Night Prayer) And make for your heart two eyes, both of which*** gaze upon the truth in this creation, so look

The Shaykh : What is al-Muqallat? It is the eye, meaning make for your heart two eyes; the meaning of the two eyes here is the two gazes. And make for your face also two eyes, he says: weeping from the fear of the Most Merciful. And so it is like the saying of al-Qahatani (may Allah have mercy on him):
"Oh, how I love two eyes in the darkness of the night*** weeping from the fear of the Most Merciful"
Allah is the Greatest. Who among us possesses this attribute? Yes.
"Oh, how I love two eyes in the darkness of the night*** weeping from the fear of the Most Merciful"
Most people today sleep until morning, and when they rise in the darkness of the night, weeping is rare. But two eyes in the darkness of the night weeping from the fear of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) is rare in our time. We ask Allah to make us and you among that few. Yes, a person should have a connection with Allah the Exalted, weeping from the fear of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) in his prostration and in his standing. Whenever he remembers the verses of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), that should cause him fear, until the heart becomes soft. For if the heart is not softened, it remains hard, because the adornments of this world, its decorations, companions, and the like may cause this, or some of it, to harden the heart. So you must tend to your heart with what softens it. The best thing that softens it is the Book of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) when you read it with concentration and reflection, for it softens the heart, as Ibn Abd al-Qawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
"And guard the study of the Qur'an, for it *** softens a hard heart like a rock"
Allah is the Greatest, and the proof of this is the saying of Allah the Exalted:
If We had sent down this Qur'an upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled and coming apart from fear of Allah. And these examples We present to the people that perhaps they will give thought.
[Al-Hashr 59:21]

The reciter: "And make for your face two eyes, both of which*** weep from the fear of the Most Merciful"
