Commentary on the preceding verses, and clarification that not every perfection attributed to a human being is attributed to Allah (Mighty and Majestic).

The Shaykh : The author (may Allah have mercy on him) answered that by saying:
"Unlike the sleep of the servant, then his intercourse, *** and his eating from it, and the needs of the body"
Eating for a human being is a perfection, intercourse is a perfection, drinking is a perfection, and sleep is a perfection. Why? Because his perfection through these things is for the sake of his deficiency, for these deficiencies complete him, as he is in need of them. If he did not eat and drink, he would perish. If he did not sleep, his health would collapse. If he did not have intercourse, the lineage would not continue. So he is in need. And Allah, Glorified and Exalted, is free from this, free from need. So He is not in need of eating, drinking, intercourse, or anything else. As for the servant, this is part of his perfection because of his need for it, so that his perfection is established. He also says: The necessities of being a body and being a created thing. Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is free from these. The necessity of being a body is that one is in need; the body needs something to put it to sleep and sustain it. Likewise, creation and possibility. The human being is a created being, possible in existence, and not necessary in existence. And Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is not a created being, and He is necessary in existence.
