Commentary on the preceding verses and clarification that Allah speaks by transmission, reason, and proof
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is a Speaker, and that He speaks by transmission, reason, and proof. Transmission and reason are both evidence, and proof is a description of the evidence. By proof is meant what has demonstrated a thing and established it without any possibility of doubt. So, whenever the evidence is explicit and clear in its indication, it is called proof.
Then he mentioned that the messengers unanimously agreed that Allah is a Speaker, and that no two among their followers denied it. The intended meaning of his statement: "no two denied it" is: no two differed on it. We say this so that it cannot be said, "But one person denied it," because the negation of two does not prevent the denial of one. However, his intended meaning is that no two among their followers denied it, meaning: no two differed on it. No two differed on it. All the followers of the messengers are in agreement that Allah is a Speaker.
Then the author (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
"So His speech is true, subsisting in Him *** Otherwise, He would not be a Speaker by the Qur'an"
This means: Were it not that His speech is connected to Him (Mighty and Majestic) and subsists in Him, it would not be correct for us to say that the Qur'an is His speech. Is that not so? If His speech did not subsist in Him, it would not be correct for us to say that the Qur'an is His speech. This is because those who say that His speech does not subsist in Him attribute His speech to either Jibril, or to Muhammad, or to the air. They do not consider the speech to be the speech of Allah. And according to their view, we would say that the Qur'an is not the speech of Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
Now, he said: "And Allah said, and is a Speaker, and thus He says ***"
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) came with the action and the description. The action? "Said" and "says." The description? "Speaker." So He (Glorified and Exalted is He) is the doer of the saying and is described by it.
"And He speaks to the two heavy ones on the day of their return *** Truly, so they hear His saying"
Yes, He says that His speech is not perishing. Yes, and by Allah, the speech of Allah does not perish.[Al-Kahf 18:109] [Luqman 31:27] The pens would break, and the ink would run out, but the words of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) would not be exhausted, because He has always been and continues to be a Speaker, creating what He wills.
He said: "And He speaks to the two heavy ones", and they are the jinn and the humans.
"On the day of their return *** Truly, so the two heavy ones hear His saying"
And thus He speaks"
All of this is found in hadiths.
"And thus He speaks to His party in the Garden *** Of the Living, with peace and satisfaction"
So He greets them and says: "I have made My satisfaction lawful for you."
"And thus He speaks to His messengers on the day of meeting *** Truly, so He asks them about the clarification"
This means Allah asks the messengers: Did you clarify? Yes, on the Day of Resurrection, until they establish the argument against the nations. And likewise,
"He reviews the speaking, Mighty and Majestic is He *** At the time of argument from the human"
For Allah the Exalted isolates His believing servant and confronts him with his sins until he admits to them.
"And He speaks to the disbelievers in the open spaces *** With rebuke and reproach, without forgiveness"
On the Day of Resurrection,[Al-Qasas 28:62] [Al-Qasas 28:65]
"And He speaks to the disbelievers also in the Hellfire *** 'Be you silent therein with all humiliation'"[Al-Mu'minun 23:108]
"And Allah has called the one who spoke, and before him *** The parents in Paradise heard the call" I think this is clear, it is in the Qur'an.
"And the call came in nine verses for him *** Describing it, so review it from the Qur'an"
Our brother will bring them for us tomorrow.
The student: Nine verses?
The Shaykh : You? Is your name Zafir?
The student: Nazir.
The Shaykh : Nazir, okay, you bring them. Nine verses in which Allah explicitly mentioned the call in the Qur'an.
"And thus He speaks to Jibril by His command *** Until He executes it in every place"
Yes, He says that His speech is not perishing. Yes, and by Allah, the speech of Allah does not perish.
Say, "If the sea were ink for [writing] the words of my Lord, the sea would be exhausted before the words of my Lord were exhausted
قل لو كان البحر مدادا لكلمات ربي لنفد البحر قبل أن تنفد كلمات ربيAnd if whatever trees upon the earth were pens and the sea [was ink], replenished thereafter by seven [more] seas, the words of Allah would not be exhausted
ولو أن ما في الأرض من شجرة أقلام والبحر يمده من بعده سبعة أبحر ما نفدت كلمات اللهHe said: "And He speaks to the two heavy ones", and they are the jinn and the humans.

On the Day of Resurrection,
And [warn of] the Day He will call them and say, "Where are My 'partners' which you used to claim?"
ويوم يناديهم فيقول أين شركائي الذين كنتم تزعمونAnd [mention] the Day He will call them and say, "What did you answer the messengers?"
ويوم يناديهم فيقول ماذا أجبتم المرسلين"And He speaks to the disbelievers also in the Hellfire *** 'Be you silent therein with all humiliation'"
He will say, "Remain despised therein and do not speak to Me.
قال اخسؤوا فيها ولا تكلمون"And Allah has called the one who spoke, and before him *** The parents in Paradise heard the call" I think this is clear, it is in the Qur'an.
