Reading the words of Ibn Malik (may Allah have mercy on him): "… Likewise, when the introduction is required *** as in 'How many a helper you have known' *** and the news of the restricted subject is always brought forward *** as in 'It is for us, except following Ahmad'

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: Ibn Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
"Likewise, when the introduction is required *** as in 'How many a helper you have known'
and the news of the restricted subject is always brought forward *** as in 'It is for us, except following Ahmad'
and omitting what is known is permissible, just as *** you say 'Zayd after the one with you'
and in the answer to 'How is Zayd?' say 'Dunif' *** for Zayd is dispensed with once he is known"
.

The Shaykh : But.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions:
We have previously established that it is obligatory to bring the news forward and delay the subject in certain places?
The student: We discussed it!

The Shaykh : We discussed it?! Is there anything left that we have not covered?
The student: "Likewise, when".
