The ruling on one who removes hair after entering the state of ihram while ignorant
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: A man entered the state of ihram for 'Umrah, and afterwards he remembered that he should shave his armpit hair, so he shaved it after entering the state of ihram. Then he proceeded to perform 'Umrah. We ask for clarification of the ruling. May you be rewarded with good.
Answer: Shaving the armpit hair is not obligatory in the state of ihram, nor is plucking it; rather, it is recommended to pluck it or remove it with some pure remover before entering the state of ihram. Likewise, it is recommended to trim the mustache, cut the nails, and shave the pubic hair if any of them have grown to the point of needing it. It is not required that this be done at the time of entering the state of ihram; rather, if one does this before entering the state of ihram, whether at home or on the way, that is sufficient.
There is no blame on one who mentioned something regarding shaving his armpit because he was ignorant of the legal ruling. Similarly, if one in the state of ihram does any of what we mentioned after entering the state of ihram while forgetting, this is based on the saying of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He): : [al-Baqarah:286]. And because it is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) accepted this supplication.
