The Benefits of Hajj
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: Allah mentioned in His Noble Book that there are benefits in Hajj. What are these benefits?
Answer: Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) mentioned these benefits in His saying, Mighty and Majestic, in Surat al-Hajj, after He commanded His Prophet and his intimate friend Ibrahim (peace be upon him) to build the Sacred House: [Al-Hajj: 27-28].
From this, some of the exegetes (may Allah have mercy on them) mentioned the benefits that the pilgrims obtain: worldly and hereafter benefits, which the individual Muslim observes and feels in himself and in his nation.
Among the worldly benefits that people experience are buying and selling, the earnings of those whose trades are related to the pilgrims, and the continuous movement in various means of transport. There is also the benefit to the poor from what is given to them in charity, or from the slaughter of the sacrificial animals of the pilgrimage and the 'Id sacrifices, and the expiations for every prohibited act committed by one in the state of ihram. There is also the marketing of goods and livestock, and so on, all of which every Muslim participating in Hajj can feel. It is observed that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) makes spending and giving easy for people in it, so that their hands become generous with what they did not find in their ordinary life, in addition to the getting to know one another among Muslims and the cooperation in their interests.
As for the religious benefits that return to the pilgrims with great good from the deeds of the hereafter, they include: gaining understanding of the religion, caring for the affairs of Muslims in general, cooperating in righteousness and piety, calling to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), enjoining good, forbidding evil, increasing in prayer, circumambulation, and the remembrance of Allah, and sending prayers and blessings upon His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and attaining what Allah promised the pilgrims and those who frequent the House, namely the expiation of sins, attaining Paradise, and the descent of mercy upon the servants of Allah in these great sacred sites.
It is authentically reported from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:Sahih Muslim 1348 Muslim narrated it from the hadith of 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her). And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 1349a It is agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. And in Sahih al-Bukhari, from Abu Hurayrah , the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih al-Bukhari 1521. There are many hadiths to this effect.

And proclaim to the people the Hajj [pilgrimage]; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every distant pass -
From this, some of the exegetes (may Allah have mercy on them) mentioned the benefits that the pilgrims obtain: worldly and hereafter benefits, which the individual Muslim observes and feels in himself and in his nation.

It is authentically reported from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
There is no day when God sets free more servants from Hell than the Day of 'Arafa. He draws near, then praises them to the angels, saying: What do they want?
ما من يوم أكثر من أن يعتق الله فيه عبدًا من النار من يوم عرفة، وإنه ليدنو فيباهي بهم ملائكته فيقول: ما أراد هؤلاء؟An Umra is an expiation for the sins committed between it and the next, and Hajj which is accepted will receive no other reward than Paradise.
العمرة إلى العمرة كفارة لما بينهما، والحج المبرور ليس له جزاء إلا الجنةWhoever performs Hajj for Allah's pleasure and does not have sexual relations with his wife, and does not do evil or sins then he will return (after Hajj free from all sins) as if he were born anew.
