The Reciter: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon His servant and messenger, our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
Imam al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) said in the Book of Hajj: “Chapter: The saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Hajj 22:27-28] Fajajan: the wide roads”
The Shaykh : Allah the Exalted said: This is the answer to a condition that al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) omitted, which is his saying: [Al-Hajj 22:27] This is the answer to the command. “They will come to you” is the answer to the command that al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) omitted. The answer to a command is in the jussive mood. If that is the case, we say: the meaning is to inform people of the obligation of Hajj and to call them to it. That is, the people. Meaning, and women; the women were omitted. And what else?
The student: No.
The Shaykh : Not “on foot” meaning on their legs, as Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Baqarah 2:239] Meaning, and they will come to you on every lean camel. A “dhamir” is one whose eating has decreased but who is strong, and whose belly has become lean. “They will come” means the lean ones... [Al-Hajj 22:27] Meaning, distant. And this is what has happened; you find Muslims coming to Hajj from the farthest places, from the extreme East of Asia, and also from Africa and other places. But the means have changed now. The means, instead of: and on every bird, it used to be on every ship. Now, those who come by plane are many times more than those who come by ship or by car. Ask about Jeddah Airport how it receives them; it is a world of planes, Subhan Allah! One plane, they say, is like a village carrying four hundred and fifty passengers with their luggage and belongings and everything they need, four hundred and fifty passengers in one trip. So, they come to you now on what? On every bird. And this is from the blessing of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), the facilitation of transportation and communication. There is no doubt that it is a mercy from Allah (Mighty and Majestic). But know that nothing in this world can be a mercy from every angle; rather, there must be deficiencies, because this world is originally a world of nearness. “Dunya” is from what? From “dunwa” (nearness). There is nothing complete in it. And in this, the poet says:
“A day is against us and a day is for us *** A day we are humbled and a day we are exalted”
Thus, until Allah (Mighty and Majestic) tests the servants with hardship and ease. He the Exalted says:[Al-Hajj 22:28] “Manafi” is the plural of what? It is the form of the ultimate plural, meaning many benefits, religious and worldly. Ask the merchants what they gain in profits during the Hajj seasons, whether those who bring their goods to Makkah or the people of Makkah who sell to the pilgrims. As for the religious benefits, if Hajj were utilized as it should be, you would find great benefits in it. The ignorant would learn from the knowledgeable, the Muslims would get to know one another, and much good would be achieved. Because you pass through the street and find, for example, people from Africa, from Asia, and from Europe, as if you were Muslim brothers with one goal. Not “let this one go, this one is from Europe, we have nothing to do with him; let this one go, he is from East Asia, we have nothing to do with him.” That is wrong. I mean, if people used the Hajj seasons for what Allah (Mighty and Majestic) intended, much good would be achieved in this. Yes.
Imam al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) said in the Book of Hajj: “Chapter: The saying of Allah the Exalted:
(27) And proclaim to the people the Hajj [pilgrimage]; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every distant pass - (28) That they may witness benefits for themselves and mention the name of Allah on known days over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals. So eat of them and feed the miserable and poor.

The Shaykh : Not “on foot” meaning on their legs, as Allah the Exalted said:
And if you fear [an enemy, then pray] on foot or riding
فإن خفتم فرجالاً أو ركباناًAnd on every lean camel
