The Ruling on Studying Interest-Based Economics
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: What is the ruling in Islam regarding the study of interest-based economics? And what is the ruling on working in interest-based banks?
Answer: Studying interest-based economics: if the intention is to know the transactions of riba and to clarify Allah’s ruling on that matter, then there is no harm. However, if the study is for any other purpose, it is not permissible. Likewise, working in interest-based banks is not permissible, because it is cooperation in sin and aggression. And Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Ma'idah: 2].

And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.
