What is the ruling on working in riba-based banks?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : His EminenceThe Shaykh : I work in one of the riba-based banks, and I have heard from some scholars that working in banks is forbidden. I ask your eminence to inform me?

The Shaykh : Yes, we have previously answered a question like this, and we said that anyone who assists another in disobedience to Allah is a partner with him in that disobedience, due to the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And it has already come down to you in the Book that when you hear the verses of Allah [recited], they are denied [by them] and ridiculed; so do not sit with them until they enter into another conversation. Indeed, you would then be like them
[An-Nisa 4:140]
And because if a person helps one who works in disobedience to Allah, he has contradicted the saying of Allah the Exalted:
but do not cooperate in sin and aggression
[Al-Ma'idah 5:2]
