Ruling on the sale of obscene newspapers and magazines

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We have a bookstore that sells school supplies and stationery. The bookstore also sells some newspapers and magazines. Some of these magazines and newspapers place colored images of girls on their covers or on some of their pages, with the intention of attracting buyers. We have been criticized by some people who say that selling them is forbidden. We ask our noble Shaykh (may Allah preserve him) to issue a ruling on this matter. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
It is not permissible for you or for anyone else to sell newspapers and magazines that contain images of women or articles that contradict the pure Shari'ah; because Allah the Exalted said:
And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.
[Al-Ma'idah: 2].
