Is compensation obligatory for one who did not neglect his duty and did not transgress?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: I am on one of the charitable committees, and I am responsible for collecting the committee's funds. Sometimes there is a shortfall due to the heavy pressure on us during certain seasons, so I do not know where this shortfall comes from. Perhaps we do not take it from the donor himself, or from the others who collect donations for our same work, or from the markets. Are we obligated to pay the shortfall for which I am not to blame, for example? Please give us a ruling, may Allah reward you.
I inform you, my dear father, that my father sends you his greetings, and that I love you for the sake of Allah . Do not deprive us of your supplication, and may Allah reward you with the best reward, our dear father. We would like you to send us an urgent answer regarding this matter.

Answer: As for the shortfall you mentioned, you are not obligated to compensate for it if there was no negligence or transgression on your part.
As for your love for us for the sake of Allah, I say: May Allah love you, the One for whose sake you loved us. We hope you will convey the greetings to our father. Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
