Question: On the night of Wednesday, 2/10/1413 AH, the husband M. J. and his wife came to me. He mentioned that he had divorced her with one divorce, which coincided with a state of purity in which he had intercourse with her, and she was neither pregnant nor past childbearing age?

So I issued a fatwa to them that the aforementioned divorce did not take effect, and his wife remains in his marriage bond, according to the most correct of the scholars' opinions; due to the hadith of Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both).
May Allah guide everyone, and peace be upon you, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family.
