Ruling on the one who says to his wife: "Khalisah"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: From 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Baz to the presence of the sister in Allah, Z. M. H. May Allah inspire her with guidance and protect her from the evil of her own self.
Peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings, and after that:
I have read your attached letter and learned what you explained regarding the nature of the divorce that occurred from your husband. First, he swore by divorce that he would not enter his sister's house, and then he entered it. Second, he swore by divorce that you would not step out of the door threshold, so your young daughter said to him, "You have stepped out," and he believed her. Third, he saw his daughter leave the neighbor's house and said, "How can my daughter leave my house?" The neighbor said to him, "Her mother gave her permission," so at that moment, while angry, he said: "Her mother is khalisah," meaning by that divorce. You mentioned that you did not step out of the house threshold and did not give permission to the girl. You asked your husband about it, and he answered that he does not know what actually occurred, and that he only divorced the last time thinking the neighbor was truthful. Your husband mentions that the neighbor did not have knowledge of your permission, but only said it based on his assumption that you had given permission to the girl.

Answer: Based on all of this, we have issued a ruling to the husband that only the first divorce took effect on you, while the second and third divorces did not take effect, provided that you are truthful in what you said, and the matter is between you and Allah the Exalted, who knows the secrets.
As for your husband, there is no blame on him for having intercourse with you if the matter is as he said, and Allah is the One who will hold everyone to account. You remain in his protection, for actions are by intentions. If, when he said the last time, "Her mother is khalisah," he only intended that if you had given permission and you did not give permission, then the condition did not occur, so the divorce does not take effect. I ask Allah to guide everyone to what pleases Him.
And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
