The minimum duration of pregnancy

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: I was away from my wife for a full year, and she did not know where I was. Then I returned to her and stayed with her for eight months and twenty-five days, and she gave birth to a child during this period that I spent with her. I am in doubt about the five days missing from the ninth month. Please advise me on what I should do?

Answer: There is no cause for suspicion in a woman giving birth to a child in less than nine months, as the minimum duration of pregnancy is six months, as He, the Exalted, said:
and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty monthsوَحَمْلُهُ وَفِصَالُهُ ثَلَاثُونَ شَهْرًا
[Al-Hijr: 15], and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: :
and his weaning is in two yearsوَفِصَالُهُ فِي عَامَيْنِ
[Luqman: 14]; this indicates that the minimum duration of pregnancy is six months. Therefore, if a woman gives birth in the seventh month or later, there is no suspicion in that, and success is from Allah.
