Ruling on facing the qiblah during voluntary prayer on a mount

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The hadith of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) : “When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to perform a voluntary prayer, he would face the qiblah and say the takbir, then turn in whatever direction he was facing.” Is facing the qiblah obligatory? May Allah reward you.

Answer:
The hadith of Anas is outside the two Sahihs, but in the two Sahihs, from many chains, it is reported that he (peace and blessings be upon him) would pray in the direction he was facing while traveling. However, if one does what the hadith of Anas indicates and faces the qiblah when entering the prayer, that is more cautious, in the sense of seeking the Sunnah and being cautious. Otherwise, all the other hadiths in the two Sahihs do not mention facing the qiblah when entering the prayer; they state that he prays in the direction he is facing.
